This is our local chippy, the best fish and chips in North Devon, the portion size was not as big but filled an empty stomach, nearly always have to wait in a long queue but this can't be helped.

We tried the curries tonight for the first time. Both the chicken and vegan options were delicious. The curries come with rice and a variety of accompaniments. Good value and lovely to have a vegan choice! We will return.

Delightful fish and chips, the curry sauce is top notch. My little one really enjoys the fishcakes. Even better you can eat your fish and chips opposite in the pub with a nice pint.

Been coming to this chip shop every year we visit appledore, this time I’m sure it’s changed hands or staff, had a fairly big order of £47 waited and waited and waited, wasn’t really busy at the time we visited , sat in on the...other side as didn’t want a drink in pub , when the order was done , got it back to Westwood ho , missing fish and chips, the chicken nuggets over cooked and the chicken burgers sat under a heater with salted on all wilted looked a mess, back to appledore and told them , as there phone they don’t answer, he looked at me , and checked the order on till oh yea you should of checked , ?? Me, !!! He done another , I told him about the nuggets and burgers why did you put them salad under a heater till test cooking?? Laughed , the other chap with blond hair sniggering , well as long as you don’t mind waiting over a half hour and these greasy servers laugh when orders are wrong then use it , very greasy place , not even a apology,,More

What a complete joke this place is. 30 minutes queuing just to place an order and then another 30 minutes waiting for it to be brought out. It was almost as if they were cooking the chips one by one. It's a shame because the...chips were nice but i won't be going there again.More

Visited on Friday 18th November 2022 bought take away Fish & Chips. There was a dedicated window next to the restaurant to order take-out food and a receipt number to collect given the high volume of customers. The meal was delivered very quickly but was...still of good quality.More

Wow what a fish & chip shop this place is, coming from Middlesbrough & visiting Whitby on several occasions for the best fish & chips around wanted something similar, this place absolutely smashed any fish and chips iv had anywhere in the country . Plus...the price I couldn’t believe it . Small fish & chips £5 . It’s never heard of thees days . Plus you can eat in the pub across the road which is a great little pub and very good priced with a very pleasant barmaid. We’l definitely be visiting this place again .More

My husband and I drive a long way for lunch here (it’s one of our favourite lunch spots) - and it’s always worth it! The people who own the pub also own the fish and chip restaurant, so you can eat your meal in the...pub, or on its outside seating area, with a drink! The fish and chips are cooked fresh to order and are always lovely - never greasy and the batter on the fish is always crisp, while the chips are golden, firm on the outside and fluffy in the middle. We both have fish, chips and peas and a drink in the pub for less than £14!!!!! It is staggeringly good value for the quality and quantity of the food you get but to be honest it’s the quality and not the price that keeps us going back for more. I can’t rate either the price, quality or staff highly enough. Do give them a try.More
