As all restaurants were still locked down we decided to have a British takeaway. That was a great decision as the fish was excellent and cooked in a light crunchy batter (not stodgy at all) and the chips were perfectly crispy. Their mushy peas are...some of the best I've ever had from a chip shop. Because all their fish is cooked to order, the real bonus was that I could phone the order through without having to wait in the rain. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Will try the restaurant next time with a beer from their pub across the road!More

Very Covid secure. Nice crispy fish and chips, really good portions! The only piece which is making it 4 star is the amount of bones in my fish. I don’t mind the odd one or two but I had about 6 in one mouthful!

Spot on! Delicious hot, crunchy batter and crunchy chips, yum yum! Covid-wise, really sensible system of ordering from a hatch and a ticket system. Opposite the pub, where you can eat your fish and chips if you want to. We opted to walk around the...corner and park up on one of the many seating benches. Faultless.More

After staying in the town over the summer with the family we all wanted to revisit , this time driving over from Croyde . We weren't let down. These are some of the best fish and chips that I've eaten. Fresh cripsy chips, amazing Cod...and a nice efriendly pub next door to eat them in if you want to sit down somewhere out of the rain and have a drink. Must try!!!More

We were a group of six. We all enjoyed our fish and chips. Large fish was massive. I’m gluten intolerant and chips were ok for me, and they were happy to steam some fish separately. Chips were very tasty.

Very good fish and chips. I’m allergic to egg and they were happy to make me fish without batter. The chips were very yummy! Long queue does get there early. You can always get a drink at the pub opposite whilst you wait.

We had great fish and chips here, was fresh and delicious, very greasy though but what can you expect from a chip shop!! It’s in a great location just off the Main Street in Appledore. Definitely recommend eating from here, we also got drinks from...the opposite pub which made it better.More

Once again had great fish and chips from the Royal Plaice. Crispy, tasty chips, lovely piece of cod in delicious batter. Really good curry sauce. Chicken nuggets also very good according to kids. We don’t have them that often, more of a treat, and they...are always very good.More

Sorry I don’t know about dogs inside but there is a nice area outside with tables where you can eat and drink and there were dogs there, and water for dogs I seem to remember.
