We went here early evening & got fish & chips. It wasnt very nice at all, tasted & looked like it had been either cooked twice or reheated, the batter tasted awful & the fish was tough & looked like a childs portion & was...really greasy, the chips were more like scraps than chips, We will not be going again & i will be telling friends & family too.
Im sorry i didnt just travel to bideford instead !!!More
We came here during lockdown, so it was takeaway only; many people seemed to be taking advantage of the pub (which had outdoor seating) immediately next door whilst they waited for their food.
Great fish and chips; light crispy batter, good chips. Well worth dropping...by after a day in the beachMore
Absolutely outstanding! The best fish and chips we have ever had! Strongly recommended!! Having visited before in summer 2020 post-lockdown, we planned to stop off for fish and chips on our way past Appledore and we’re not disappointed. Superb service and amazing food. Has to...be tasted to be believed!More
Absolutely lovely cod & chips at The Royal Plaice in Appledore village. Was encouraged to sit on the outside tables at The Royal pub which is adjacent.
Don’t miss this place for a classic British fish and chips supper!
After always being told Sylvester’s was the better option, we tended to go there. However, after come local advice we stopped here for fish and chips, and were glad we did. The food was out this world, the portion sizes were perfect and food lovely...and hot. The chips were perfectly done along with the fish. Absolutely will be visiting here again.More
We look forward to our annual visit(s!) for fish and chips when in North Devon on holiday.
Both the fish and chips are cooked to order, fresh and not dripping in oil, the large cod is really too big but we are on holiday!
Despite...the struggle to park in season this is worth the hassle for some of the best fish and chips we have experiencedMore
