We had lunch here in this beautiful, dog friendly country village pub. It was absolutely gorgeous in the quaint old pub, and the food was incredibly good with generous portions. We were made to feel really welcome by the chatty and friendly girl on the bar and so was our old dog. The choice of ales is great and a good... More

We were staying in nearby Boynton and this pub was recommended. We called in without a booking but no problems finding a table at 5pm on a Thursday. The food was excellent and reasonably priced - portions enormous! Our 3 kids loved the homemade chicken nuggets (massive) and chips and could have shared 2 between 3 of them. Loved the... More

Called in Easter Sunday called at 11.30, booked in for a meal at 12. We had our dogs with us, put in a place we could keep the dogs out of the way 👍 We ordered starters and main, the food exceeded our expectations - hot, fresh and excellent portion sizes, veggies fresh and not mushy. Staff attentive and welcoming,... More

Having lived in the village for over 30 years I never tire of the warm and friendly atmosphere that the pub conveys. Over the past few years the pub has been transformed for the better and now run by a local family who have the interests of the local community at heart. There is a choice of good quality real... Popped in to The Old Star for lunch. Small but perfect country pub, right opposite the church. Well furnished with lots of quirky decorations (old pith helmets hanging from the ceiling) and several rooms, all served from the central bar. Selection of four real ales, changed on a regular basis. Sadly the Theakston's Old Peculier had just gone off, so... More

The reviews do this place justice. A really lovely place for some decent ale, a log fire and a fantastic meal. Friendly staff. Menu includes things like chicken, mushroom & asparagus soup, ham hock terrine, gorgeous rib-eye steak, saddle of venison... Will definitely return.

Found this pub on trip advisor, and the reviews were spot on. Never had such a large portion at a more than reasonable price! We had gammon, and salmon, both amazing! As others had commented, the home made chipped potatoes were to die for! The staff were very friendly on what was quite a busy night, xmas eve. We have... More

Description
The Old Star in Kilham is a traditional country pub in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds and the local community. Real Ales and freshly prepared local meals are a mainstay. With 2 log burners and 2 open fires throughout the pub a warm welcome is guaranteed even on the chilliest winter (or summer) evening. A south-facing beer garden means children, dogs and sun-seekers are well catered for. Alternating Wednesdays we hold a quiz night. We are flexable to do take-way too, please just submit your order and we will prepare it for you! For tables of 6+ booking is appreciated as this will allow for better service for you and other diners. The pub is dog friendly, however during eating and peak hours owners are requested to ensure their dogs are under control and out of the dining areas. Looking forward to see you soon!
