A quick catch-up with an old schoolfriend after 35 years. Halfway for us both send a perfect choice. Coronation Chicken Sandwich and Chips, very tasty. Nice pub and staff, will be back.

We arrived here at 1.45 on a Sunday. We hadn't made reservation but the very helpful bar manager found a table for us. The menu was specific to Sunday lunch but had a good and varied choice. Two of our party had the roast beef and it was cooked to perfection with well cooked and presented vegetables and delicious gravy.... More

We have been here many times, but not visited in a while. On arrival Russel the owner was very welcoming! He also happily adapted the menu choice, to look after fussy moi! I chose a risotto as a starter, something I never would have chosen it was superb and so delicious, as well as presented to such a high standard!... More

Very impressed with surroundings and menu choice is interesting. We went for special occasion and the four of us had different meals that were excellent. Would recommend for special nights as meal prices are high but you do feel they are worth it and the setting open fire, etc., adds to the occasion.

We came today for lunch all 16 of us. We have heard such good things about this place, really nice exterior and a lovely cosy atmosphere. Not the best of welcomes from bar staff but on the whole nice people. We where taken though to a private function room which was a lovely space on the whole. Food was outstanding,... More

Excellent food, lovely polite waitresses. Welcoming atmosphere. One member of staff let the team down (older barman). I asked for a particular cider and was told rather abruptly no. (I only asked because an ice buket was advertising it) Then went on to say the cider was supposed to be exclusive to pubs only, but large stores i.e tescos were... More

The sandwiches here are amazing! The pub itself has a lovely atmosphere and surroundings. It does get busy, which is a good sign however once the lunch time rush was over it was very relaxing watching the open fire having a coffee. The hot drinks come with amaretti biscuits which are delicious. It is a bit pricey but for us... More

Food is very nice but on the pricey side. Mum had Lamb was lovely nicely cooked, however my daughter had the same and the lamb was raw so couldn't eat it all - could have sent it back I suppose but was already getting late by the time the food came. I had steak which was small, came with 3... More

Been here several times for a Saturday night out and always had great food, last night was no exception. This is a very welcoming village Inn with excellent food, great selection of wines, craft beers and a strong following. The menu is imaginative and covers all bases, you should have no difficulty finding a dish that suits your taste. Fish... More
