We'd not heard of Mallams prior to our visit, but it was chosen by friends, and they certainly chose wisely. The welcome we received was warm, and we knew straight away that we were in a restaurant who cared about us as much as the food. And what food! Beautifully presented, each course tasted wonderful. The drinks, too, were far... More

We discovered Mallams about 20 years ago when on a weekend break in Weymouth to celebrate my partner's birthday. We were so impressed that we have been back for a birthday treat nearly every year since (and a good few times in between). We have been lucky enough to have dined in a few top rated restaurants over the years... More

We got a bit lucky as we hadn't booked and it soon filled up. The waitress staff were very attentive, knew the menu well and gave some good advice. The dishes are well prepared, have quality and are well presented, we really enjoyed the meal - probably helped by the fact we had a few cocktails! Thanks for helping to... More

Went here on a Friday evening. We tried to book for 7.30 but were asked to arrive for 7.15. On arrival we were given a fairly expensive drinks menu and we chose two drinks. However, we placed our order for food. We were told that the mains were 'compris' but it was suggested we might like extra vegetables. We declined.... More

Small restaurant with an excellent location in the harbour. Friday night visit with overcrowded seating arrangements. Service was good. Wine was nice and by the glass or bottle, non alcoholic cocktail (Shirley Temple) was excellent. Fish Casserole as a main was very good. Quail was poor - lacked flavour. Starters were nice. Would give a very good but too crowded... More

Very good staff. Excellent food and drink. The staff made our special night even more special. The wine was reasonably priced.

My wife booked a table for 7pm. She requested a table beside the window as it provides a nice view of the harbour. Upon arrival we were escorted to the table and as we were about to be seated the staff changed their minds and we were seated in the far far corner of the restaurant with no window. It... More

We are sorry you have so many negative comments about your evening. If I can take the issues individually then I hope we can go some way to address the comments. The two window tables had both been requested but unfortunately one couple did not turn up by which time you had already been seated. It was not felt appropriate... More

We were lucky to get a table here on a Saturday night as we called in on spec, and it was well worth it. Service was just right, attentive yet allowing us time between courses to really enjoy the experience. Great cocktail and pre-dinner beers menu, as well as a good variety of both starters and mains. The fish cakes... More

A lovely small restaurant - we didnt book - we suggest you do as it was very popular. Front of house run I think by the owners who created a warm welcome and totally attentive service - a good selection of wine many by the glass and the food was totally delightful - one of the best meals we have... Cosy little restaurant by the harbour in Weymouth. Excellent fine dining, complimentary glass of fizz if you arrive to book table between 6.15 and 6.45. Good selection of starters, fish/meat dishes and desserts. From 3/10 there is a 3 course meal available for £25. The food is delicious, finishing off with a 'yummie' is a must. Good value, fabulous meal.

Description
Mallams is a long standing favourite of both locals and visitors since 1990. The restaurant is in an beautiful position with views of the bustling harbour. The Tudor beams and stone walls of the listed building have a traditional feel but are complemented by contemporary decor. The food is very definitely in the 21st century, an eclectic mix of ideas from British cuisine, with a touch of French and some Asian influence as well, always using the freshest, local produce. Seafood is much in evidence, as you would expect, but meat, game and poultry feature too.All this mixed with exciting wines and cocktails and friendly and attentive service and a really personal touch from the hands on owners make this a venue to remember. We are always happy to discuss your requirements for special celebrations, anniversaries, weddings, birthdays and we will be pleased to design a special menu just for you.
