Like a previous reviewer we found this place by accident and I would agree that it is excellent value in a notoriously expensive area. We had the 'daily special' and enjoyed sandwiches, a cream scone and tea or coffee for a bargain price. All beautifully presented with lovely staff. Well worth a visit.

Found this little place tucked away in notorious rip-off Windermere. Excellent value, lovely food, friendly, obliging and helpful staff. So dog friendly too. Comfy settee. Seek it out and give the chains/expensive 'tea-rooms' a miss!

had the lunch time meal deal with sandwich and a soup, but they got my sandwich order wrong (just ham) and rather than make a new one they just scraped the cheesy filling out and gave it back to me, still with bits of cheese in. Soup however was really nice and the atmosphere was good even on a cold... More

Most dining places in Bowness do not take dinner orders after 8.30 pm. St Martins that night took our dinner order at 9.30 pm...and a wonderful repast it was.

Had a gorgeous cream tea here. Top notch pot of tea with warm scone. Try the cherry jam, it's a major treat. Pucker clotted cream too. This place is a little gem hidden up a side street. Very friendly staff and great service.

We've visited loads of cafe's for lunch and we were all surprised by the prices here. OK, it's in the middle of the Lakes and an obvious tourist hub, but still! The offers were even expensive. £7 for a sandwich, cup of tea and a scone is overpriced. The food was OK, but maybe you could find cheaper and better... More

We had just driven many miles to the Lakes for a short stay and decided on a snack before booking into our hotel. We came across this little tea room and decided to have a coffee and a snack. We ordered a bacon sandwich, on one part of the sandwich the bacon was burnt and on the other side it... More

St Martins is a delightful retreat a little off the beaten track. Their £7 soup and sandwich and hot drink meal was just what the Dr ordered and their cakes were divine! I would heartily recommend the sticky toffee cake.
