Visited here a few times whilst staying in Bowness on Windermere , been before in the summer so was nice to sit inside to enjoy a few drinks in front the roaring fire in November . Lovely pub , friendly staff .

Been coming for many years and always enjoy it. Plenty of atmosphere, very good staff, roaring fires and decent lunchtime menu. We had the spicy tomato soup which was much better than it sounds and a good beer and decent wine.

This is such an historic building with real fires and is a lovely place to visit. Just don't read the passive aggressive notices placed on every table instructing you how not to be a rubbish customer.

Fantastic quaint little pub/inn. Always popular. I have been coming for years and I am pleased to say it hardly changes which is wonderful as it keeps it's character.

Found this watering hole(!) by chance. Perfect English pub, open fire, good beer and the barmaid was a great character. Recommended !
