Ahead of a works Xmas party, 16 of us decided to meet in the Hole in t'Wall. A lovely, cosy hour or so spent having a few drinks in a historic bar that is worth a visit for a piece of local history. Nothing has changed over the many years we have been popping in for a drink every time... More

Called in at lunch time Saturday, they had a lovely fire everyone really , enjoying the atmosphere and surroundings, good selection of beers and good menu, the food as usual good but far too much - we love the place - although in the centre of Bowness - seems to be missed by the day trippers!

A good old English pub with a roaring fire is the best way to get in the Christmas spirit. This has to be our favourite pub in Bowness for evening drinks. I've not eaten here so can't comment on the food but the atmosphere on an evening makes it definitely worth a visit.
