Went there last night for a meal with friends having heard excellent reviews. Enjoyable meal with good service but overall disappointed with the food. Starters were good, but not all available. Tasty and good portion size. We had gammon, lamb shank and 2 rib eye steaks all of which were good, but not great. One steak was thick and juicy,... More

Went there for lunch on Saturday. As we had a dog with us we sat outside in the sunshine. First courses were Cumberland sausage and chicken & leek pie. Sausage was perfectly cooked and served with onion and mushroom gravy. The pie had only a token amount of pastry and lots of succulent chicken. Service was not quick despite there... More

Going at a busy time you always have a risk of not getting really good food, but this meal broke that rule. All 8 meals were excellent as were the starters and puddings. Service was good as was the setting. A very well maintained old building. Well worth the trip

Came back here again having not been for some time. Always pretty busy on a Sunday so we had booked. We decided to eat a la carte, a wide range of choices from pizza and pastas to steaks and specials. Our meals were freshly prepared and tasty, service was good, prices seem to have gone up a little since our... More

This restaurant beautifully combines the authentic rustic traditional look and feel with style and comfort. The service was smart friendly and prompt. The food was delicious and varied, we had three diners in our party, one chose a pasta dish, one chose a meat dish and I chose a vegetarian dish which was interesting and delicious. There was a decent... More

I wish this place was nearer to where I live, the food was cooked beautifully. I have not seen King prawns as big for a long time. Plenty of meat in the pie, so much so I could not eat my chips. From start to finish a delicious meal. The staff very friendly, efficient and courteous.

we are so lucky to have the stagger inn on our doorstep, such a beautiful place and such gorgeous food, the steak is always perfect and they serve "proper chips" which is always a bonus in my eyes, delicious desserts and friendly staff, this place can not be faulted

Nice setting. Friendly staff. Slightly over- priced. Menu is quite limited and very average . Venue lighting is dimmer than you normally get- which works well.
