Just wanted to thank Denise and Stuart who were very helpful getting us to grips with the more card and for providing samples of the craft beers when unsure which to order. We enjoyed a nice meal at a very reasonable price.

Thank you for your comments - we will pass them on to the staff directly. It is nice to hear how they helped you with the more card and the sampling of some of the best beer around.

The place is full of students, so it's rather on the loud side of things and not so tidy/clean. The food is very unimaginative, and the staff could need a lesson or two on customer service and basic politeness.More

Hi, Thank you for your review. We agree that the place was looking a bit tired round the edges. So we've gone and had a little refurbishment. With a lovely new terrace. With regards to the staff.. this surprises us as we usually expect high...More

We were visiting Durham and stumbled upon this restaurant. Intrigued and amused by the quirky chalkboard quote we ventured inside. WHAT A MISTAKE. Whilst my partner was at the bar ordering I witnessed a delivery man entered and asked a blonde employee where he should...More

Hi, We too are appalled to hear what you have witnessed. We would like to stress that the employee is by no means a manager here, though is a team leader and in a position of authority that day. We can only thank you for...More

Popped in for after dinner drinks, the place was very quiet. We had a good catch up and by the time we left it was heaving. Lots of different drinks, most of the usual brands. Nice bar with a reasonable vibe.

Really good vegan options and friendly staff – highly recommend the mac n cheese which also comes in a toastie! Good value for money too, only wish they had a few more vegan dessert options!

I like this place, but it is packed with students. The burgers are fine and the drinks are not over priced. The music is very loud so it's not a great place to have a conversation, but I've even done that on occasion. I would...More

If there's any bar I'd recommend in Durham this is it. Fun, relaxed and vibrant atmosphere with super friendly, down to earth service. Great selection of unique beers with rotating taps and money back on the 'More card' for future rounds! Comfortable and social heated...More

After carefully selecting from the menu attached, the whole team coming to the library bar we’re excited to dine out. The starter of soup provided a promising start, however when the Christmas burger arrived we didn’t know wether to laugh or cry- needless to say...More

Not a bad place for a night out the drinks seem a bit expensive compared to other venues but it’s a city centre pub.
