Ate here on a trip to the isle of man. The food was delicious. I was with friends and we all had fish which is their speciality. It's quite a small restaurant so would recommend booking in advance

Visited with a party of five on a friday night. I can only describe it as "OK, not bad enough to complain but nothing to rave about". The goats cheese starter was odd, and several pounds over priced. Surf and Turf was disappointing - small,...More
Thank you for your review We have taken your points into consideration. Best regards
We eat at Tanroagan about four times a year and have discussed going more often. However our initial server on Saturday night had as much warmth as a wet Tuesday in December and argued the toss when we asked her to turn the music down...More
Hello Thank you for your kind review of our food. If it is the member of staff I believe it to be, they have since left the company and the island. We try to set the music and lighting to create a pleasant and enjoyable...More
It’s been a couple of years in all probability since we have dined at Tanraogan in Douglas on the beautiful Isle of Man, but my wife and I decided to treat ourselves to lunch there again last week. This is probably the best seafood restaurant...More
We booked for last night for a Birthday meal for our daughter and family. Been many times before and last night did not disappoint either, service was great and friendly, the meal was beautiful, locally caught fish, how can it get better and cooked to...More
We had a lovely evening at Tanrogan sampling great fresh fish and seafood - the risotto was perfectly cooked and the seasoning spot on.
Hello Thank you for your review. I am delighted to hear you enjoyed your visit. The risotto with Cod is one of my favourites. Best wishes
Visited 9/2/18. Music too loud and not right for this restaurant. Tiny amount of butter for bread with starter, Had to ask for more. Ordered Lemon Sole from board. Came with a heavy cream sauce. Absolutely dreadful. No mention of cream sauce on description on...More
Thank you for your comments It is unfortunate to hear your experience of the evening described in this way. The butter is provided for our complimentary bread offered in the evening, along with a choice of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Rather than waste, the...More
Acceptable food but not at the price point and the sad thing is that it would take very little to make this place exceptional. Just lost it's way!More
Hello Thank you for your review. I can see we didn't meet all your expectations on this visit. I would really appreciate if you could get in touch via our email / or facebook (direct message) and tell us a little more about the visit....More
I ordered a filleted fish and it was much too salty . I notified the waitress that it was too salty to eat and she took my dish. After a few minutes she returned and said that the chef had tasted the fished and declared...More
Sorry to hear about your meal experience. I can see you were not satisfied with the chefs response. Seasoning is part of the cooking process and the chef will have tasted dishes throughout cooking to ensure it was seasoned appropriately to his specification. However, seasoning...More
Usually have fab lobster on the menu, staff are friendly and helpful. A little cold in winter as its glass fronted, but fab seafood well cooked. Starters are excellent and good selection of wine and cocktails, plus mini puds for those eating healthy.More
Thank you for your review. The island sure has great lobsters and shellfish. Throughout winter it would be best to ask ahead if you would like to reserve Lobsters as the winter weather makes going out to sea unpredictable and can limit supplies. Look forward...More
