Visited here today for a spot of lunch for 5 of us. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Choice of sandwiches and light lunches were excellent. Food was freshly prepared with good size portions and delicious. Service was also excellent. Highly recommend the ploughmans, especially the mixed cheese and ham.

This is a surprisingly good place to eat, and so reasonably priced! It has a massive menu, but only because they list EVERY possibility - whereas the word ALL would be sufficient. Eat here with confidence.

A really fantastic service. It was the owner who served us and he really knew the menu, his crabs were caught fresh and the scones were baked 3 hours before. Prices seemed reasonable and the fact you can have half a cream tea, or a child's portion really helped. We were a group of 4 adukts and 5 children. We... More

We were wandering around Ilfracombe in the rain and decided it would be a good idea to take shelter and get a cream tea somewhere. Now there were a number of places to choose from, all with very similar offerings and prices, but we ducked in here. What a charming and quaint little tearoom this is, run by a lovely... More

Back again for our June holiday. A lovely visit to our favourite tearooms. Tinged with sadness as we had just lost our eldest Greyhound who was a regular visitor with his sister Cully. However Andy supplied her usual treat, and she had plenty of treats from us. As ususal food was sumptuous, and we all left feeling happy and full.

Afternoon tea at St James Tearooms is delightful and set up according to one's dietrey needs. It can be too much but you can take the remainder home.

Sitting outside under a grapevine drinking a good pot of tea and listening to the water fountain made this a unique experience. I returned the next day because my dog was welcomed and the food was good, and the day after that, such a nice welcome.

On our first visit to Ilfracombe we found this quaint tearoom, the owner was most welcoming and couldn't do enough for us, he was most helpful in advising us of local attractions. The food was very good, the tearoom comfortable and clean, thoroughly recommend a visit. On striking up a conversation we found that the owners brother lives in the... More
