Excellent service, friendly service, and a good craic with the locals and other diners. Steak was cooked to perfection. Its just everything you look for in a country pub, unless you have s hankering for real ales. Was thrilled to see a local fox chilling outside afterwards too.

We recently stayed at Crown Cottage across the road from the cross inn, the pub was a little cold but the food was totally acceptable, we didn't get an opportunity to try the Sunday lunch that was recommended maybe next time.

4 of us dined there in the evening. It was last minute and a bit rushed as arrived at 19.40pm to be told they stopped serving food at 20.00 (their web site says 20.30). We quickly ordered and thoroughly enjoyed our meal (lasagne, chicken tikka, lamb tagine). I had the lamb and the meat was really tender and the spices... More

We`ve stayed in Penally for the last two in October. During our stay we tried the Cross Inn a couple of times. Was`nt bothered about food, just a beer. We wanted to sit, relax and enjoy the great ambience and friendly welcome of the Cross Inn. The first time we went in was about 21.30 hrs. There were a couple... More

My wife and I recently stayed just across the road at The Seashell apartment . The obvious choice was to try The Cross Inn. We were not disappointed. The standard of the food was excellent, and plenty of it. We had two lovely evenings, enjoying our meals and watching the Football on the T.V. Friendly staff and locals. Would recommend... More

Cosy pub, great ambience, busy on an October weekday evening. Staff really friendly. Just a shame that the food was a disappointment. Starters were a good size - prawn cocktail was fine (could have done with a bit more dressing for the volume of prawns) but Camembert bites were overcooked so really hard. Ribeye steaks were a big disappointment- tough,... More

Went here on a trip away it was getting late we didn't know where to go. We googled pubs that allow dogs and this place came up. We were so glad it did!! The most friendly pub we have been to. My Nan has breathing issues and uses a walker the pub was quite full and several people offered there... More

Disappointed after reading some very positive reviews. There is no car park. The venison stew was lovely but sadly everything else was mediocre. When we could get her attention the girl who served us was very pleasant but we had to wait a long time. She was constantly on her phone. There was a good choice of desserts but when... More
