We were a party of six people dining early at 6 PM on a Friday night. Despite the fact that there were probably only three or four other tables in the restaurant the service was terribly slow. We needed to be in the theatre for 7:30 and only just made it (rushing the end of the meal) The food was... More

Had a disappointing lunch with a visiting friend. Ordered sandwiches at £8.50 a go. They took half an hour despite not being busy. The BLT was bacon and sad salad between two slices of toasted white bread and the Fishfinger sandwich arrived as another BLT so went back. Another 20 minutes produced pieces of fried cod between two slices of... More

Many thanks for your thoughts on your recent brief visit to our lounge. It does sound that our standards did fall below par on this particular day as this scenario is highly unusual and will be addressed. Your comments have been shared with the Head Chef. I agree this level of service is not good enough. I feel it is... More

I went here with my mother and two of her friends, one of whom is in a wheelchair. Firstly, it needs to be said that the Ramada is one of the only places that is completely wheelchair accessible. Parking below, no steps to negotiate on the way to the lift and the lift takes you straight up to restaurant level... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback for us. It is sad we didn't get to discuss this in person, as you make some interesting points, so would have been good to have the opportunity to discuss these before you left. I am pleased to hear the service was good and it does sound like the food... More

Breakfast is your average hotel fare with tough bacon and overcooked eggs. I recommend ordering from the à la carte menu at no extra cost to get freshly cooked food. The dinner menu was ok but the food wasn't. I found that ordering two entrees was the better option. Also on a few occasions dinner was spoiled by having noisy... More

Booked a week in advance, arrived to the restaurant, no booking found, this was not an issue as the place was dead. The restaurant did not look like it had seen a vacuum in ages. We ordered the food with the manager which was fine,we ordered off the Brasserie menu. Starters served were not as advertised, when questioned, the staff... More

Thank you for your feedback. I am happy to hear your complaints were dealt with before you left by our Duty Manager, who quite rightly removed the meal from your bill as we would not expect our customers to pay for a meal they have not enjoyed, should we feel we could have done better. Lisa More

Had afternoon tea here yesterday. The staff were friendly enough but the service was pretty poor! Usually with afternoon tea you have a choice of tea, and this is regularly topped up throughout. We had to ask every time we wanted more. The best bit of the afternoon tea was the scones, but these came with hardly any jam or... More

Had lunch and dinner at this restaurant. The food was very good. Prices are OK depending on what you order. The only issue was the waiting time for the stater and then between courses. Went in at 6.30 and didn't finish till about 9.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to our restaurant. I am pleased you found the food to be very good, our new Head Chef and his team have worked hard on creating a new fresh menu. I will pass on your thoughts re waiting time, I am confident this is something we can easily improve.... More

A sensible choice of prix fixe and service friendly and efficient. Cutlery not good. Lemon tart tasteless and chicken rather chewy.

The décor is typical hotel, light and bright so doesn't feel like a restaurant setting. There is a good selection on the menu, I had a black pudding starter which obviously used the leftovers from the breakfast buffet. The food was tasty but doesn't warrant the prices. The staff were friendly and efficient but to be expected as the restaurant... More

Many thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on your dining experience. The décor is typical of a hotel as that is what we are, we do not claim to be something special. We are a hotel restaurant and serve good freshly made food using locally sourced seasonal ingredients. I am really glad you felt the staff were... More

Description
This year we have welcomed a new Head Chef, and with him he has brought some fresh and new ideas to hit the ground running with a fresh new approach to our food offering. Concentrating on locally sourced produce from Peets Plaice for our fish, Kev Peet lives locally and goes out each morning to catch his fish. One of our dishes "Southport's Potted Shrimps" is created using his freshly caught shrimps. Forshaws supply our vegetables, we always have a "Soup of the day" usually using fresh seasonal vegetables. The new chef has designed his menu with an emphasis on freshly homemade, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. As you would expect we cater for all dietary requirements and special requests. Don't fancy anything on our menu? Tell us what you do fancy, if the chef has the ingredients, he will cook them up for you. The Food & Beverage as a team recognised afternoon tea as being one of the most popular reasons our customers visit our lounge. With this in mind our Chef has introduced some new exciting and unique variations, "Kids Afternoon Tea" for our little guest's, smaller portions of the classic afternoon tea, served with cordials instead of tea. Or there's even a "Gentleman's Afternoon Tea" A macho treat comprising of pork pies, black pudding roll, mini cheeseburgers, monkey nuts, pork crackling, pickles salad and bottle of locally brewed Southport Beer.
