We ate here last Friday with two friends. The staff were very friendly, chatty and helpful. We opted for the pie and pint (although I had wine) shrewsbury lamb, veggies and skinny chips, all well cooked and presented. Lots of it too. Two of us had dessert which was a little on the small side but lovely. All in all... More

I ate lunch here today with a couple of friends. We ate in the restaurant as opposed to the bar. The service was friendly and helpful. I ate a vegetarian dish involving parsnips, potatoes, onions and cheese. It was delicious and was perfectly seasoned. My friends both had baked salmon which they said was great. My side plate of vegetables... More

The waitress who served us on our visit certainly not good for business and needs some training in customer service, so not a great start. We had starters mains and desserts. The vegetarian dish superb and my steak small but ok. The chips over cooked and the veg hard. All in all a very average experience and not one we... More

Delicious meals, good choices and friendly service. G/F meal was no problem. Beer was excellent as judged by those who drank it and the children present enjoyed their meals. The Ladies rest room was really nice too!

We held our Charity Horse Race event in here last night and have to say that Sam and his team made us so welcome from the time we first approached him to organise the event right through to this morning when he called to ask if we had all had a good time last night. The food was absolutely fantastic,... More

As regulars we attended the quiz night with family, told bar manager we wanted to eat. We sat at a table and the waitress walked by us at least three times with menus for other tables, including the table next to us and still did not give us any menus. Finally, we asked again for menus and waited a long... More

What a lovely place to have lunch. We had a table booked for the restaurant part of the pub. Menu and specials board offered great choices. Highly recommend the breaded prawns for a starter. 3 of us the salmon fillet, gorgeous and plenty of it. Desserts to die for ! Very friendly waiting and bar staff. Only thing that marred... More

We picked this pub because it was in a good location to meet with old friends. The service was excellent and, although the menu was rather mundane -all the old favourites - the food was well prepared and presented. The passion fruit Creme Brûlée was delicious. We would certainly go again.

I have been here several times and the food is excellent. Sometimes it is better to book to avoid disappointment on busy nights but usually we just drop in and served in no time at all. Great atmosphere, great meal at excellent prices. Brilliant for family especially children.
