Had the rarebit and coffee. Excellent experience, rarebit great tasting, looks amazing but not best value. The experience of being in such surroundings makes up for it though.

Enjoyed lunch here last week. Delightful food, excellent service and wonderful olde worlde atmosphere. I could almost imagine a Victorian lady appearing any minute dressed in her crinoline, poke bonnet and carrying her parasol! Full of elegance from a by-gone age. We were travelling from london to visit a friend nearby and wanted somewhere different for lunch. We’d booked in advance for afternoon tea and were really impressed by this spot. The staff were helpful and accommodating to our requests and the food good.

The kids absolutely love the 5p pic n mix table and the colleagues are always brilliant with them. It's a nostalgic return to the sweet shops I knew as a kid, but beware the double salted liquorice 😳
