Back in 2016 we planned a trip to see friends in Pickering at the beginning of this year, looking online for things to do when the obvious choices are closed for maintenance etc we came across The Post Office Tea Parlour, the website looked intriguing so we pencilled it in for a visit. Well this proved to be a great... More

On a freezing cold January day in North Yorkshire we happened to call in here for a late lunch and we were so happy we did. We walked in and were happy to feel the warmth in the room immediately. This continued throughout our whole time there. Exceptional service and fantastic food. Can't wait to go back.

We three were en route to Whitby and a short detour from Pickering brought us to Middleton Tea Parlour, serving some of the finest homemade cakes and pastries in the county. First up were beautifully moist egg mayonnaise sandwiches, followed by Yorkshire tea loaf accompanied by a generous slab of local Wensleydale cheese. To finish, delicious apple cake with Bramley... Excellent service in this traditional tea parlour. Out toasted sandwichs were cooked to order and the china tea cups and proper tea pots make this a lovely treat.

Excellent value and friendly service. The Afternoon Tea Experience is not to be missed. It's just like visiting Grandmas - everything tastes better when served on a china plate/in a china cup. You can never be bored here with all the wonderful old china displays and embroidered tablecloths to look at. A worthy treat any day of the week

Wow, what a hidden gem. My friend took me as a treat. Lucky me! We had afternoon tea. Not only is it very good value, it's more than I expected. The ambience is perfect for a vintage tea parlour. The decor is refreshingly cosy. It's almost like visiting my ' Nana's best front room' some of the crockery dates back... More

This tea room is easily missed as it's on a main road but today cycled there. I had an apple sponge cake with apple and lemon curd and a pot of tea. The presentation was first class as was the food. Service very good and friendly. We sat out in the sunshine and enjoyed the rest. Definitely recommend and will... More

Cycled here and I had a Sally Lunn and a pot of real tea. Beautifully served by a friendly waitress. As it was a nice day we sat outside. Gorgeous location, food and experience. The crockery was so nice. Definitely will go again and recommend a visit.

Dini and her staff were incredibly helpful. We were meeting friends there for afternoon tea, but birthday boy didn't know we were coming down from Scotland and Dini and her staff were in on the big secret. They decorated the table and kept them ignorant of the surprise until we turned up. Bryan was delighted. But to top it all... More
