Thankyou for a brilliant stay over the weekend really enjoyed ourselves. Great breakfast (served not too early which was greatly appreciated with a hangover). Very friendly and attentive staff...nothing was too much trouble.Bed very, very comfortable. We are planning our next stay already. Soph and Paul (the green couple haha)

love this local pub! Dog friendly. Friendly staff. Home cooked food which is not over priced. Oatcakes and scampi and Sunday Roasts are excellent. BEST PUB IN THE AREA!

Called in for lunch during a leisurely drive in the Pennine foothills. Had a good welcome, with blazing fire and clean toilets with very hot water. Although the menu was short, everything seemed home made and well cooked. The portions were huge, even over facing; would have been better with less piled on the plate. A good country pub.

Good quality pub food. Pie night I think it was Wed., need a reservation. Owner friendly and personable and went out of his way to help us with delayed luggage (which was delivered to his pub).

After walking to Rainow it started to pour with rain so popped in for a beer. There were lovely intimate areas you could sit in and the atmosphere was lovely. There were books you could read while there and brochures of attractions and walks in the area

Classic lovely English pub full of charm. The make the pies themselves and they are great, as was the other food we have. On a rare sunny day the beer garden is worth a visit.

We went for the first time for our friend's Christening Party and thought it was a wonderful. Lovely traditional décor and atmosphere. Food was lovely. Had a brilliant decking area and plenty of outdoor seating. The one thing I could criticise is the play area (although my daughter did have hours of fun) is that the ground surrounding it consists...
