Whenever we come up to Macclesfield, we always make sure we go to the Smithy. It's a really warm welcoming environment and in a great location. We've lunched here in the past and the food is good and the prices reasonable. If you're in the...More

Great food and great environment next to Macclesfield forest. Asparagus soup and main courses 10/10, would recommend due to great choice of specials.

Over the years we have visited this pub on many occasions. Sadly yesterday evening the food just didn’t deliver. The chips were pale and soggy. The gammon was underdone and cod in batter thick and soggy. This pub has one of the most beautiful locations...More

We came across this pub whilst out walking and was instantly won over by the fact there were plenty of vegan/veggie options to choose from. The beer garden is a lovely spot to relax aching feet before carrying on the journey. I ordered the falafel...More

Description
This is a traditional pub in a lovely waterside setting on the edge of Macclesfield forest. Excellent food is served lunchtime and evening. A standard menu is supplemented by a daily "blackboard" of "specials" which features the best of local produce. With a specialist chef on board we have become noted for the quality and range of our vegetarian and vegan options. We have also introduced family friendly childrens' and pizza menus both offering real value for money. The pub has a range of traditional ales including guest beers. In the winter real fires warm the stone floored bar area as well as the more formal dining area of the pub. Very popular and booking is essential at weekends. As residents of the area we aware of what the competition has to offer and feel that Leather's Smithy provides excellent food of consistent quality at a very fair price. We do not allow dogs in any part of the pub. Except guide dogs.
