We arrived early, or so we thought, because we knew you couldn't book. However The Bulls Head was full. We were told we would have to wait half an hour, but in reality it was only about 20 minutes, enough time to study the menu and make our choices. My starter of poached pear was an absolutely delicious combination of... More

We visit regularly and always receive a warm welcome. Fantastic pub grub and a lovely atmosphere. Great for a quick drink or an evening of dining with the family.

Second time we've been on a Saturday evening. Get there early, or book ahead - it gets very busy. If the tables all have reserved notices on them when you turn up, ask the staff; they can often find a table where the reservation is for later in the evening. Good selection of gastro-pub options on the menu. My wife... More

It was good, very good. If you like wood floors, chairs and tables, roaring fires and traditional beers, you will love The Bull's Head. If you like soft furnishings and carpets, you may not like it. The food was good, I had the "Woobly" Steak Pie and it was really nice. The service was very good and efficient. I can't... More

Certainly one of the better pub lunches we've had in a long while, plus an excellent selection of local ales. The food was freshly cooked, with generously-sized helpings and clearly it was quality produce. All in all a splendid meal. Fortunately, we managed to find a table not too near to the loud music, which was particularly intrusive and indeed... More

The staff are welcoming, thoughtful and knowledgable. The menu is great - always good when your first choice is unavailable due to a late butcher delivery, proves it is sourced locally. Packed with atmosphere - and no piped music!

We called in last minute, my husband and I and our 5 year old son. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming, the Kids menu was great, my 5 year old's food was brought out first just as we asked, we even asked for a bit of a special kids version , a mixture of 2 dishes (he was hungry... More

AVOID IF YOU HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN. I visited with my husband, two year old daughter and dog. It says it's a dog friendly pub but on arrival we were told we could only eat in the bar area which was right by the main door, so it was a VERY cold spot to have lunch on small uncomfortable round bar... Went for lunch with a bunch of mates, all of us relatively senior, midweek. Quite busy but we got a nice welcome from the friendly staff. An old traditional country pub doing top notch grub! Thoroughly recommend both the food and the service.

Thank Alan M
