We had a lovely lunch here today and we’re so glad it was recommended to us. On a Friday, it was fully booked at lunch so we were glad to have reserved in advance. They offer a full menu or a prix fixe menu. All of us took the two course prix fixe option. For mains two of us had rack of lamb, one the veal sweetbreads, and one duck breast stuffed with foi gras. For dessert I had crème brûlée and the others had chocolate fondant. On arrival the chef came the table to welcome us, and he supervised the kitchen in the center of the large dining room. Service was good and attentive but not pushy or aloof. For four, lunch with bottled water (no wine as we were in the middle of a day of wine tasting) came to 175 Euro. Highly recommend.

We had an exceptional meal and experience at Le Saint Julien. Their wine selection was fantastic and took into consideration various price points. Our table of four each ordered the three course meal and we were all blown away by our selections. Our French language abilities are limited, but that wasn't a problem at all. The restaurant was busy but the wait staff were still very attentive to our needs. As a personal touch, the Chef came around and welcomed each table. From the food, to the facility, to the surroundings, it was a wonderful night out. If you're in the area, we highly recommend Le Saint Julien.

Three of us had a very enjoyable lunch at Le Saint Julien. The exterior has an appealing design, and the interior is attractively decorated. The tables are ample in size, and the chairs are quite comfortable. Both the service and the food are topnotch. From starter through dessert the dishes were appealingly presented. All were tasty. (Be aware, though, that the seabass is wrapped in aluminum foil during cooking. If that is of concern to you, try the meagre – it was delicious.) The chocolate dessert was our favorite of the options. By the time we left, the restaurant was completely full, so reservations are a good idea.

For a family lunch, we chose the Lobster tasting menu at 65€, it was a disappointment. Cream of lobster as a starter, good but rather sickening, it lacks a crunchy element that would accompany it, then Lobster salad with artichokes, with very tired salad on 2 plates (Left on the edge of the plate, without comments of the service) absent artichokes (When we point out to the chef, he thinks we are nozzles) replaced by well cooked green beans, diced tomatoes and slices of poorly cleaned garden herbs that crunched. Comes the roasted lobster with girolles and its ravioles, in fact we find the same base of sauce as the starter (see photo) but in hot and when we put an S with accompaniments, it would be good to have at least 2 units (1 raviole good and 1 unfortunate piece of girolle on the plate) a real lack of creativity and generosity. Nothing to say about desserts (thanks for the birthday candle) and wine, but also for the pleasant and smiling service, all in a perfect setting. For me, the quality/Award ratio is not there! We may have to come back and try the dishes on the menu.

We had reserved three places online for Saturday September 2, 2023. The restaurant confirmed the reservation to us on August 16, 2023 in writing. So we drove 190 km to find the establishment. We were received, no doubt, by the owner who was very unpleasant, telling us that "it was impossible for us to have booked since it is the day of the MĂ©doc marathon". So we had to show this individual written confirmation from his own restaurant. He just muttered that he didn't know what happened and turned his back on us without apologizing. So we returned the 190 kilometers in the opposite direction, swearing that we would never again return to an establishment which is so poorly organized and which, above all, welcomes its customers so badly.

In a small town St Julien(, we were passing through to stay in paulilac) this restaurant of the same name was a surprise. Make a reservation because it fills up. The chef comes to greet all the tables personally, and the service is top notch. The food is tasty, the wine list is extensive and very good. I recommend.

Great place to feel like home; warm and smiling welcome, friendly and attentive staff. We had taken the tasting menu with wine pairing and everything was perfect, a real treat with fresh, quality and very well cooked products. I highly recommend this excellent restaurant, we will return with great pleasure with our eyes closed.

We had a lovely lunch in their bright attractive space with a view of the chef. We ordered from the daily specials crevettes and the sole meunière. Crisp local white wine by the glass was the perfect accompaniment. For dessert, we had the strawberry and raspberry soup with sorbet and the raspberry tart. Service was professional and attentive. A wonderful experience and we’d happily return!

The restaurant had a nice garden & pleasant setting. We went for a set menu and shared a smoked salmon entree and it was fine. The 2 main dishes were very disappointing - my lamb was tender but a little bland and the accompanied potato gratin was too cheesy i.e. very rich, my husband had beef medium rare it was still pink but rather tough. We were rather surprised the meat dishes did not come with any vegetables or salad where as the fish did, not even a token of greenery garnish. The cream brûlée dessert was better than the mains. We were very disappointed with the quality of the meal but the service was fine. We had a glass of wine each but 2 different types and the sommelier was very good, she poured in 4 separate glasses so we could try both. The head waiter was carving the beef at a nearby table and he was actually licking his fingers after carving. We did not think it was acceptable, however, local guests did not seem to mind. Perhaps the a la carte dishes would have been nicer.

First time back since Covid. They have remodeled and it looks really great! The food here has always been tops and this is no different. Broad menu choices and great wine selection. Food is specially prepared and many fresh ingredients used. Great service. Cannot wait to get back.

We had a great meal here on our last night in Bordeau. The food and ambiance were excellent. The service was good, but they were very busy (Friday night) so some slight delays were ok and the staff was very helpful and nice. So highly recommend this spot. They have remodeled the inside since we had been here seven years ago, and was very warm, elegant and charming!

Le Saint Julien was recommended by a reknowned nearby chateau. Seconded by our hotel concierge. Excellent recommendation. Warm greeting. Vax card inspected. Offered our choice of tables (it was a bit early!). Ordered the wine from a well-rounded list of current and older vintages focused, of course, on bordeaux. Varied menu with interesting choices. Excellent service. They were very kind to two Americans, only one of whom had a command of french. The mushroom ravioli was exceptional, with pan roasted foie included. So too was the foie terrine. Roasted lamb dish with fabulous bean side dish. Yummy desserts. The sauternes by the glass was very good. But the 1974 armagnac was to die for. So good we went back another time during our 1 wk stay.

We had a great time, having booked late, we were seated at the counter, but ultimately we were seated very well up high. The service is pleasant and well organized, the dishes are good and the setting is really pleasant. A good address.

We had the chefs menu. It was above all expectations. Beautiful smoked foi gras, salmon on greens, boeuf, cheeses and peche with menthe ice. But above all the matching wines, or should I say they matched the dishes with the wines? What a beautiful place with great service. A big recommendation!
