A superb meal last night at this delightful pub. Eight of us dined and all thoroughly enjoyed the food. The proprietor was on hand and explaind that everything was made on the premises by her talented staff. Special mention of the Cheese souffle, The Lamb and the Chocolate and Orange Cheesecake.. Yummy! Charming staff made our evening complete.

We phoned here late afternoon Sunday on the off chance of a table, the landlady kindly obliged. Despite stopping service at 14.30 we were welcomed at 15.15. Great smell of home cooked food coming from the kitchen as soon as you enter the pub/restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of starters on offer 11 in total and about... More

We got off to a bad start because we hadn't booked. It was a Thursday and the place was half empty. The landlady hesitated over this and was somewhat snappy. The food main courses were pleasant enough but we had to wait a long time. For the price the desserts were small. The cheese was tasty but almost invisible. On... More

We ate here twice on consecutive days. The pub in a old building with very low ceilings which are easy to walk into. We were happy to return on our second visit although I would describe the food as homely and average. The beef and ale pie was good. The sticky toffee pudding was very average. The jam tart wasn't... We visited on a beautiful Saturday lunchtime with cloudless blue skies and the pub was quiet, which meant we could enjoy the beautiful views from the amazing beer garden in peace. The owner has obviously taken a lot of time and trouble to landscape and plant the area with fruit trees and willows at the edge of the stream to... More

We could not have had a better day for our first visit to the Butchers Arms. Clear blue skies warm sun and beautiful countryside and my lovely wife, the staff here are very attentive and friendly, we ordered drinks and food then went out into the garden, drinks arrived and then the food about twenty minutes later, size and quality... We recently moved to the area and heard good things about the Butcher's, but we were still taken by surprise. The first thing you notice is how friendly the place is - all the staff make you feel welcome, and the atmosphere is very cosy. They have a superb selection of draught ales and ciders from the area, plus a... More

Dropped in for lunch with my wife on a cold Thursday and was pleased I did. I ate the pigeon and black pudding starter doubled up as a main course and my wife had the pork tenderloin. They took a reassuringly long time to arrive- everything is therefore freshly cooked! Excellent ingredients, no fault in the cooking and the portions... More

Description
A lovely old half-timbered pub in gorgeous countryside 8 miles SE of Hereford and a few miles from Ledbury, Ross and Malvern. Run by chef Stephen Bull. The pub's food is sourced from local ingredients, and there are cask ales and local cider and perry. The Butchers runs regular special food and wine evenings (dates posted on website). Large garden with stream for nice days, two roaring fires in the winter. Separate room bookable for parties. Family and dog friendly. Warm welcome.
