We visited this restaurant because it was in the Michelin guide. The restaurant is part of a lovely French traditional hotel. The food and wine were both of a high standard. The place to take your wife for that special meal

This is a great place to go for a special occasion. Le Rive Droite is situated in a large, beautiful 19th century house in the centre of Villecomtal. With its high ceiling, traditional decor and period furniture, it is like going back in time and the whole place oozes style. The menu at Le Rive Droite is slightly limited with... More

If you can imagine a modern interpretation of fine dining with regional classics with the finest ingredients served in an imposing setting with echoes of La Belle Epoque ....... then La Rive Droite fits the bill. Our previous visit was 14th February when we savoured the themed special menu at €55 - it made our Lunch that little bit more... More

We had a delightful dinner. Excellent food and wine. Pleasant helpful service. One of the best in the region. Not just the usual heavy south west fare. The ceps were to die for.

We went for Sunday lunch and were well fed and looked after. The food was exquisite - in taste and appearance - and the setting beautiful, with us sitting outside on the verandah for lunch and then having coffee under the trees. Interesting metal sculptures in the garden and art in the house. A complete experience in rural France.

We treated ourselves to a night in the comfortable accommodation on offer so as to benefit from the very good wine list (and the good choice of Armagnacs). Warm welcome, pleasant house apéritif and into the truffle menu, which was sensational. We're lucky enough to live fairly close by (in French terms, anyway) and we'll be back. Highly recommended!

it is black truffle time. We all opted for the truffle menu which was superb. Eclectic decor, Madame excellent front of house, extensive wine list, brilliant food. Definitely a restaurant to return to again and again.

We eat at Le Rive Droite with "foody" friends as a destination between our homes here in SW France. The restaurant is in an 18th C manor house alongside the river with gardens decorated the modern sculpture. The house has a certain faded elegance about it, and being Sunday lunch, the dining room was full of chatter. There is nothing... More

Interesting menu, with imaginative delivery. The wine list was good and included a good selection of half bottles, rare these days. Nice touches, a good amuse bouche and good petite fours with coffee. The fish was fabulous, and fresh ceps were superb. A good mix of French and international diners. Definitely recommended for a slightly more expensive than normal meal.

In the last 12 years we have lunched and dined at Le Rive Droite quite a lot of times. After a good year's gap we returned with 5 other friends last Saturday night. The menus now are at 38 and 42.5 Euros and a sufficient reasonable wine list. My meal was superb. Foie gras escalope that melted in the mouth... More
