This place is the real deal. My family is from the area and I'm very familiar with the local cuisine. Ai Caffi is genuine, fresh and has excellent and attentive service.

This is wonderful food - by far the best local cuisine in this part of Piemonte and well worth driving an hour or so for. The lunch in the brasserie was a fantastic menu - pasta, veal, stuffed courgette flowers - an enormous. And great value. We couldn't manage dessert on the menu del dia so they threw in the... More

After more than 10 years we finally retuned to Caffi, now in Acqui Terme for lunch, now as a family. We were not disappointed. From the lunch menu we had an assortiment of anitpasti including a steak tartare and a cheese tart and a stuffed pepper. The kids got a caprese. All very good dishes on a high level. Then... More

We visited the Brasserie of I Caffi on the last day of our summer vacation. The beginning of the evening was great. Nice menu, great wine choice and excellent service speaking good English. However after about 45 minutes at the table next to us 12 Italians were seated. The noise was like a 747 taking off and it would not... More

This week I ate with two friends who deserved a big Thank You from me for sorting out a problem in connection with the location of my property here in Italy. They spent so much time doing that that I thought only a dinner in this famous restaurant was justifiable. They had never eaten there so it was a huge... More

We turned up on spec and could only eat in the brasserie. Not a problem. The food was dreamily good - octopus with potatoes and olives - as soft as you like. These were followed by superbly cooked steaks and an historically good chocolate fondant. The wine list is impressive (two pages of Barbera's alone) but we gave them a... More

and that includes ones where I was the Chef. My wife and I had dinner there for our sixth anniversary on a Thursday night in the restaurant part. We were served a small appetizer (in this case, a piece of bell pepper wrapped around some tuna). I had looked at the menu on their website and was impressed. I was... More

Three of us visited last week for a birthday celebration, Warm welcome, excellent waitressing, fabulous ambience (old vaulted room with painted ceiling, thick table cloth, good large wineglasses and as for the food - faultlessly delicious and beautiful to look at with garnish of violas, rosemary etc. The best experience I have had in restaurant after the Fat Duck in... The restaurant is situated in a very old building, some parts dating from the 400s. It has a.o. been a City Hall. The plaque next to the entrance gives a description of its past. The area where we sat had an enormous high ceiling. We were with 5 altogether and everybody thoroughly enjoyed the food. The ladies got the wooden... More
