This is just the photo review, you should also find my detailed 5 star written review here. Easy to find as directly opposite the San Giuseppe church and its belltower.

We have been there for my mom's bday. The food is amazing: from "carne cruda" to bollito via the tajarin. All authentic Piedmontese cuisine. Very good also the wine list. The staff is great, the location cozy and elegant. Prices amazingly affordable for the quality. The place to eat when in Alba!

This place was recommended to us by our (air b&b) host for the weekend, and was a very pleasant surprize. We shared a "sformatino con fonduta" and we opted for the additional white truffle shavings. The smell filled the room the moment the truffle container was opened it was amazing. This was followed by a shared barbaresco risotto, and a... More

On a day trip to Alba, while staying in the heart of Piedmont, I just instinctively found my way to this restaurant. I hadn't researched one prior to our visit, but I was delighted to find VIgin Mudest on a side street tucked away from the Alba's more central squares and more touristy venues. On this particular day it was... More

We were sorely disappointed by this little restaurant. It had moved from the previous location, which was positively reviewed 10 years ago. That's what you get for using old guide books. The new location is slightly off the tourist main path. We arrived hoping for special local food. It was local, i.e. brassato beef, pasta tajarin, etc. but very poorly... More

My wife and I enjoyed dinners at Vigin Mudest twice during our 7-day visit to Alba. The local favorite fresh pasta tajarin coupled with bolognese sauce was excellent, and we each enjoyed it on alternate nights. The vegetables, salads and wine selections rounded out two excellent dinners. The owner/chef had prior experience as a restaurateur in London, and was fluent... More

This restaurant had mixed reviews, but I had decided to try it because it was off the main area. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful but the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the truffle tasting menu and suspect that I did not get Italian truffles, but imitations. The starters were horrible as was the desert. Don't waist... More

I went to Piedmont with my husband just to walk away, have fun and taste wine. It took by surprise this familiar restaurant, apart from the noisy crowd, in a calm street, in front of San Giuseppe Church. The atmosphere, the wine and, of course, the food made this an unforgatable experince. Mamma mia!

The adorable menu signboard on via Cavour was our first alert to this special and unique restaurant with a strange name. We followed the alleyway to its door, and when we encountered Nonna ready to go inside as we searched for its opening days and times, we knew we were in for a treat! When she asked if we would...
