This restaurant is magic. The food is wonderful. The pasta fresh. We eat lamb, rabbit. The meat is amazing, huge. The experience sharing tables is fun, also you share the glass for wine and water. The menu is hand written and the check written in the table. You may get a 0.50 euro disccout. Try the coffee and the dessert.... More

Most of the clientele in here are Italian which can only be a good thing! We had the pate for starter, garlic and chilli pici pasta for first course then a huge sirloin steak for main. Everything was divine. Wine was super cheap (€3 for half litre!) and tasty too. Would highly recommend to any meat lovers looking for an... More

Started waiting outside for name to be called. Surrounded by people from all over the world. Once inside seated with new friends and attempting to decipher Italian menu was fun! Fortunately got a English menu and ordered antipasti and pasta courses. Next, owner shows up with slabs of meat to choose second course from. Once cooked, slab was amazing entree.... More

A monstrous hunka beef...extra lean (which means extra rare, or you can't chew it). Interesting, intimate dining experience with a couple dozen strangers, community style. "Attitude" at the front door (if you are late for a reservation, you lost it--can't blame them, as there's a line-up at the door and few seats). Authentic, passionate owners, and fun as a result.... We went to Acquacheta on our first night in Montepulciano, and there is no better way to be introduced to the warmth, fun, food, and drink of Tuscany. The couple that runs the place are something to behold--exchanging roles, interacting with the guests, and generally making sure every single person has a memorable evening. If you're looking for a quiet,... More

The food was fabulous. We loved being seated with others we did not know-- it gave us a chance to talk to people from other countries. The steaks are huge- descended from cattle bred by the Romans. My husband and I split a steak, a salad, a side, and a dessert- all for a mere 66 Euro. A great value... More

If you're looking for a unique, hearty and fun experience in Tuscany, look no further than this tiny restaurant in Montepulciano. Call in advance to book. And then expect a roll call entry that takes the restaurant from "is it even open" to full-house in less than 5 minutes. The whole experience felt like you join your Italian Uncle and... More

The best restaurant in our Tuscany trip. The meat was insanely delicious and the price absolutely reasonable. Must reserve in advance!

After reading many good reviews we decided to check out Osteria Acquacheta. The setting is intimate with close seating in a relatively small restaurant. We had a salad, a pasta dish, and the sirloin cut of the florentine steak (t-bone was too large for both of us). We could easily see our meat being carved and it was brought over... More

Description
The Osteria ACQUACHETA, open for over 25 years, has retained the characteristics of the old Tuscan taverns. The kitchen, sharing tables, one glass for water and wine, and not least an authentic welcome and true, typically Tuscan, make it a local flavor ... you feel at home ...
Managers, CHIARA and GIULIO, have maintained intact over the years the tradition of pasta, bread, cakes and homemade preserves to which are added succulent steaks cooked Florentine embers of wood.
Local, small and very popular, is located in the upper part of the old town, a few steps from the main square.
