Stop in for a quick Espresso or Cappuccino to plan your day in Montepulciano. Nice people and try to get a view of the valley.

The cafe is very charming. It is elegant and has a nice decoration. The service is good and the selection of pastries, desserts, cakes and even sandwiches is very interesting. It is nice to spend some time drinking a coffee or a tea and eating a nice sweet there. A good choice for a break.

This became our morning "go to" in Montepulciano. A new, fresh assortment of pastries daily along with strong, fresh brewed coffee. Fantastic view from the balcony table start your day.

Great spot for an espresso and a cookie. Absolutely breath taking view. Restaurant interior has beautiful old wood, nice tables and booths. Good service and food was good.

Selected at random on, as I have mentioned in other reviews, a cold December day, we were pleasantly surprised to be able to sit on the terrace with heating for lunch. Note that this was the restaurant, not the caffe. I had a vegetable timbale starter with a cheese fondue sauce - it wasn't quite what I was expecting, but... More

The postcard scenery is matched by the stunning art nouveau interior... not to mention the mouthwatering chicken.

We sat downstairs behind the plastic drapes the first time and enjoyed the setting. Second visit we were seated on a little private balcony off the stairwell. Very intimate fun and enjoyable. I think we split a salad and a bottle and wine and left very happy. Definitely recommend for lunch as well as afternoon gelato.

Header says it all. The spot itself is amazing. Decor great, view fabulous. But they do not seem overpriced for all that. If you are not in a rush, well worth the stop.

Enjoyed our cappuccinos and pastries at this beautiful cafe. Such a wonderful display of Homemade croissants, cookies and pastries, you don't know what to choose. You can sit at the bar for a quick coffee or enjoy the glorious view from the terrace.

Description
Caffè Poliziano Historical Place of Italy. This spacious and elegant Caffè in the historical centre of Montepulciano is a fine example of Art Nouveau design. For generations visitors and local residents have been able to enjoi a glorious view of of the Valdichiana from the balcony. Distinguished guests have included Carducci, Pirandello, Prezzolini, Malaparte, Mario del Monaco, Giulietta Masina,Ornella Muti,, Mario monicelli, Marina Doria di Savoia, Enrico Rava, Mauro Bolognini, Giorgio Battistelli, Licia Colò.... In 1992 the Caffè was lovingly restored to its former glory. Federico Fellini, who visited the "Poliziano" soon after, considered the atmosphere and style to be worthy of a great Central European city such as Vienna or Prague.
