We bought cannolis to have for breakfast the next morning. They were great even on day 2. We did not have time to enjoy the cafe but the balcony views looked lovely

Caffè Poliziano is from another era and was refurbished in 1962. Old fashioned elegance in decor and hospitality by all staff. We enjoyed a share plate of fresh baked pastries with coffee for morning tea.

Desserts are just OK (not more). Don't go there for tiramisu, in comparison to other places in Tuscany this one was below average. Nobody tells a word that the price for desserts will be different in the diffirent parts of the restaurant. If you choose...More

We arrived in Montepulciano too early to check into our hotel and we were getting "hangry," We walked up from the car park and this restaurant was right there. I had thought about booking it for dinner, so this seemed fortunate. We were seated on...More

Incredible old stately place across from our B&B. Dark wood interior serves up memories of a bygone era from a century ago. Lovely views from the small balcony where we enjoyed fresh pastries and coffee.

Stopped here again with some different friends after shoe shopping in Montepulciano. We always stop here for coffee and cake whenever we visit the city - and it is always a wonderful experience, have never been disappointed. Price is always relative - I personally don't...More

The Caffe was recommended to us by people we met while traveling but we were disappointed. It seems to cater to tourists who aren't familiar with the many hidden gems in this, my favorite Italian town. I would opt for one of the smaller restaurants...More

Description
Caffè Poliziano Historical Place of Italy. This spacious and elegant Caffè in the historical centre of Montepulciano is a fine example of Art Nouveau design. For generations visitors and local residents have been able to enjoi a glorious view of of the Valdichiana from the balcony. Distinguished guests have included Carducci, Pirandello, Prezzolini, Malaparte, Mario del Monaco, Giulietta Masina,Ornella Muti,, Mario monicelli, Marina Doria di Savoia, Enrico Rava, Mauro Bolognini, Giorgio Battistelli, Licia Colò.... In 1992 the Caffè was lovingly restored to its former glory. Federico Fellini, who visited the "Poliziano" soon after, considered the atmosphere and style to be worthy of a great Central European city such as Vienna or Prague.
