We loved the food and local atmosphere. We were just in Orvieto for 2 days and ate here twice.Once for dinner and once for lunch. Have reservations to be sure to get in. Like other reviewers I loved the chewy pasta with the fresh shaved truffles. The desert, a panna cotta cake with small berries was our favorite desert in Italy.... More

During my stay in Orvieto, I tried 3 restaurants and this one was good but not as much as the others. The best thing we ordered here was their red house wine. The rest were good but not wow. Also if you are a non-Italian speaker, it seems the staff are not quite comfortable to communicate with you properly.

We enjoyed a meal here and were seated right away without a reservation, but had arrived just after opening. The restaurant was busy but service was very good and the food was wonderful. We highly recommend.

A friend recommended this establishment and we were glad she did. It took a little finding, follow the signs but once you get into the square go through the arch on your left and as you do a street opens up to the left and it is 30m up the street. Excellent service greeted us, a very good and varied... More

Finding such great food in Orvieto, on a site considered among the most dramatic in Europe, rising above the almost-vertical faces of tuff cliffs, is fantastic. We found mostly local people here. Our favorite by far was the Tagliatelle al Ragú di Cinghiale, recommended by owner Giampiero Cinti, whose family has run this place for over 50 years.

I had the truffle pasta and my wife had the wild boar pasta. We had local wine from Orvieto, the entire experience was fantastic!

This restaurant, named for the specialty of the region, has the reputation for being the 'go to restaurant' in Orvieto. The town has a history of breeding pigeons for the table in the underground caverns, hollowed out of the tufa or volcanic solidified ash. The town relied on these birds for sustenance at times of siege, and of course, in... More

We were on a day trip to Orvieto and relied on some other reviews for some suggestions on where to have lunch. What a pleasant surprise. The staff was warm and friendly and the food was outstanding. I had both the veal scallopini with lemon and a pasta dish. Wow! Outstanding.

Truffles dishes are excellent, especially the "Spaghetti all'Ascaro". 4 complete meal (shared starters + primo + main course) and 3 bottles of local wine for a total of 170€. I think this restaurant is very cheap for this level. Go and enjoy your meal.

Neither of us are "foodies" and had never consumed truffles, or even experienced truffle oil to our knowledge. So when we were told specifically to indulge in the "amazing truffle pasta" at La Palumba we threw ourselves wholeheartedly into the mission! The waiter arrived with a flat bowl holding 3 round lumps of gnarly something -and a grater! He methodically... More
