La Lanterna was recommended by our Airbnb as great food at a great value. We were surrounded by local people, excellent seafood risotto and local wine, wonderful tiramisu- 3 adults, less than 80 Euro- amazing evening with great people and great food!

La Lanterna is the place where food and services are excellent. The location is popular for the locals and you need to make a reservation with one day in advance. I believe any fish dish is delicious. We had mussels, pasta with seafood and ligurian...style cooked fish.More

Busy restaurant a little outside the center of Sestri Levante (so make a reservation, especially in weekends and high season) . Lot of locals come to eat here, so that's always a good sign. Great choice in pizza's but they serve a lot of other...nice dishes too. Service was very friendly and food was great! Good choice!More

This restaurant was mostly full of locals, we were the only tourists there on the night. Food was good but the number of dogs in the restaurant put us off. Our waiter was very helpful,but it was not really our type of place. No complaints...about food or service.More

La Lanterna is in Via Nazionale, a ten minute walk from the promenade. We booked ahead for a table for six for dinner and were greeted by Monica, a very friendly person. This restaurant is mostly frequented by locals which is usually proof the the...food is good. Besides the menu they also have specials which are chalked on blackboards making for a varied and interesting selection. I had the octopus and potato salad as a starter which was very tasty and my wief had the spaghetti vongole which tasted of the sea. For mains we both had the fritto misto, which is fried squid, anchovies and prawns. Initially this was good but it was too much of the same thing and quite heavy as there were a lot of anchovies which are strong in taste. I would suggest having a smaller portion. The prices are very reasonable, service is good and staff are friendly making La Lanterna a good choice.More

We spent two evenings there. Both wonderful. You‘ll find a lot of fish and seafood - including pasta with seafood (looked really good, especially the baked spaghetti coming in aluminium foil). They also have pizza and take away. We chose from the daily menu which...varies a lot. Antipasti: We tried the Thun Carpaccio, the Polpo de la Lanterna (a spicy polpo salad) and the fried gambas. All good. Mains: Baked Fish a la ligure. Very good. Polpo, pan-fried, with herbs and tomatoes and the grilled Thun as a main - I could die for those. Both were amazing. Our waitress was lovely and helped us with the menu. Highly recommend that restaurant. Busy place.More
