After visiting three times back in 2013, we went back this year (2017) to experience the same culinary delights as four years ago. A lot of our favorite dishes were still on the menu (Rabbit, wild boar stew, pasta with pistaccio nuts, ..) and also some new delicious food was added. Tucked away in the small town of Mazzola (we... From the reviews we had read, we were really looking forward to this restaurant. The menu sounded great with lots of game dishes. Unfortunately a few dishes we fancied, like the pheasant, were not available. My husband settled for tripe and I had pappardelle with cinghiale sauce, both of which were good. The service was non-existent - apart from the... More

This is where we had our best dinner in tuscany so far. A very local setting off the besten track in the little village of Mazzolla. Ravioli with Fasan, Wildboar, Pasta with Asparagus, Spaghetti with Tomatosauce for the Kids. A truly special place. Just a handful of tables, so a reservation is important.

Recommend by guests staying at our hotel as a local authentic place to eat. You would not find this place on your travels as it is a small hamlet about 10 min from Volterra. Fresh local ingredients were a delight. Restaurant celebrates 50 years next year and eating there I can understand why. Very unassuming venue with a curved brick... More

One of our favorite restaurants in this part of the world. Located in the tiny hamlet of Mazzolla, this truly authentic restaurant serves Tuscan fare made from the freshest ingredients including wild meats and wild herbs, such as wild asparagus and mushrooms.

We were here on Christmas and loved the food. It was typical Tuscany, very fresh and made with love. We will come back in the summer!!!

This small trattoria is located in a little place called Mazzolla, only 10 minutes away by car from Volterra. We spent 3 evenings in this lovely restaurant, fascinated by the traditional local dishes that our host Giuseppe prepared for us. He really made us feel comfortable and like at home, very kind and friendly, yet professional, clearly loves his job.... More

Slightly off the road but very well worth it. We all felt like we were eating in the family's house. Ambiance is adorable along with the tiny town. Our group of six people loved everything we ate. The food was so fresh, from the bread, pasta, and meat. Very authentic Italian food.

Driving up to this tiny hilltop village through the low cloud was quite a start to the evening. Small trattoria in the centre of the village. We ate inside and the chef owner was very welcoming. Wonderful local cooking and great atmosphere.

My venue at this restaurant was an awesome experience! It's located in a little village, very beautiful, about 30 inhabitants, lost in the Tuscany's countryside! A very relaxing place. I could even talk a little bit with the people living there. The boss is extremely nice and kindly. We talked for a while with him. He easily speaks french and... More
