We came as a group of 6 including 4 OAPs...! We all thoroughly enjoyed our roasts - some had chicken, some beef & some pork belly. We also indulged in dessert - chocolate and peanut butter cheesecake, chocolate brownie, rice pudding and a cheeseboard. We were stuffed! We were also incredibly content - the service was good, our table was... More

We stumbled on the Red Lion by accident while on holiday in Canterbury, it's a lovely traditional English pub with great decor, a nice atmosphere & well above average pub food. We enjoyed the food so much we booked to go again later the same week. The staff are very warm & friendly too!

We enjoyed another excellent lunch at the ever popular Red Lion in Herne hill, despite being extremely busy Michael, Nicola and their team worked hard to ensure we felt looked after. The food and ambience at The Red Lion restaurant/pub has always been five star and today I can confirm that once again it did not disappoint and remains one... More

We were regular eaters here for a time, but it went through a bumpy period and I'm peased to say is back on form. Tidied up and refurbished, but still with a lovely atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. Good range of beers and wines, and excellently prepared, tasty food. Prices a touch over the top at local rates, but worth... More

Monday is curry and a pint night! Went for husbands birthday - usual friendly and efficient service and atmosphere. The curry was superb and the portion for me was just right.

We found Sunday lunch to be very expensive. The food was disappointing as we were expecting a lovely roast dinner with all the trimmings. However, although the meat was cooked well, the vegetables were sparse ( a spoonful of carrots and cabbage)! a cold yorkshire pudding and probably the worst roast potatoes I have ever had, I got the impression... Very good service, staff friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Log fire in the bar, upstairs dinning room if a party was required.
