Eaten here a couple of times and its definitely a cut above most of the lookalike Bistros. Excellent and friendly service and the food is generous and delicious. Couteaux (razor clams), pork knuckle and lentils, kidneys all good. No disappointing dishes over the 2 visits.

At that point the waiter sets a chair in the aisle with a blackboard listing the daily menu. The chair made it nearly impossible to move, especially with some people having to... More

Ate here whilst in Paris as was living nearby to the restaurant. The food and wine was delicious but the service was average.

Description
Anatole restaurant in Paris' northwestern quarter Levallois is a modern old-style bistrot where French cooking reigns supreme. The wood panelled exterior, the harlequin-checked floor, classic wooden seating and undressed tables, the antique posters and advertisements are utterly charming and they -- and the wifi -- pull in the business and pr crowd at lunchtime. The evenings are lively too, especially the terrace in warm weather. And what to eat in this classic setting? Classic French bistrot cuisine, of course, though this is made and served with real brio: tuna steak Basque style with basmati rice, rumpsteak bordelaise with potatoes dauphinoise, house style babas au rhum. This retro-styled eaterie offers a modern brunch on Sundays for perfectly chilled weekends.
