We spent a great evening here with our two kids. The food was good, they even did a lovely veggie dish which can be hard to find in France! Steak and kids menu also went down well. Good service with a really nice chatty and helpful host.

Lovely dinner here yet again. Great bottle of Crozes Hermitage large sparkling water and three courses of delicious food for €95. Friendly staff and a nice view of the carousel and Christmas stalls. Highly recommended.

Visited, by chance with my elderly mother and my husband. We were warmly welcomed and chose to sit outside in the warm, October sunshine. A dish of nuts arrived as soon as we were seated. We shared a tasty starter of cooked camembert and salad. This was followed with one dish of Moules Marinière, and two plates of delicious ,... More

I'm a fairly regular visitor to Calais on business ( maybe 10 /12 times annually) and being a Sunday asked a contact to recommend a " well regarded establishment" as for once I had some hours to kill before return ferry. L' ardoise was recommended but on hindsight given there have been only 5 reviews this year has far I... More

Visited on a lovely sunny lunchtime, and were able to sit on the terrace outside. We could have sat inside in the brasserie-type area, or there was a nice restaurant area upstairs. We had moules et frites, which were very tasty and a good portion. There was a unfortunate moment though, a nearby table, who had arrived some time after... More

A huge duck breast (Magret Canard), brilliantly well cooked with all the fat drained and the skin crispy, served in a dozen wonderfully juicy, thick pink slices was sensational. My wife really enjoyed her plate full of scallops (St Jacques) in a creamy Champaign sauce. This is easily one of the top four restaurants in Calais when judged by quality... More

Late Sunday lunch with a perfectly cooked tender, tasty entrecote and a large portion of moules frites, a couple of glasses of Afligem and a plate of cheese with a very quaffable red wine that was just 3.00 euros a glass. Service was attentive and friendly. Surprising quality in the unattractive central square.

We came here for lunch and the restaurant was busy. We had a table upstairs and the restaurant was smartly decorated and welcoming. We enjoyed the meal and the steaks were excellent as was the fish. I did think the wine was expensive and the service was slow. It took an nearly an hour for the starters to arrive, but... More

We went twice in January, the first time because it appeared to be the only place actually serving the Dover sole that was on the menu. It was superbly cooked with fab al dente mini-veg. Partner had an Argentinian entrecote done a point as he likes and we looked enviously at the steak tartare consumed by the neighbouring couple. The... More
