MICHELIN Guide's Point of View
Opposite the fishing harbour, it is well worth keeping an eye open for this low-profile restaurant. The chef unashamedly crafts textbook French recipes...

Always an excellent address on the port of Les Sables d'Olonne. Excellent welcome. As a starter we enjoyed a snail puff pastry. As a main course, the sweetbreads are always tender. My father liked the scallops. For dessert, Paris Brest remains an excellent choice. Meal washed down with a very good bottle of rosé champagne (a little expensive all the same for such an establishment) followed by an excellent bottle of white Sancerre.

There were four of us having lunch and none of us had any complaints from the starter to the dessert.
The dishes are classic but very well mastered (and everything is homemade). The service and advice are on par with what is done in the kitchen.
If I had to keep only one memory in mind: the absolutely delicious profiteroles!
We will return without hesitation with great pleasure.

Elegant restaurant offering a lovely view of the port of Les Sables d’Olonne...
Bertrand's cuisine is both classic and gourmet, based on fresh produce and with great mastery: airy and tasty snail puff pastry. Duo of lean and sole with impeccable cooking...
Thin apple tart, crispy and tender, and unmissable Paris-Brest XXL minute for dessert.
Gentle welcome and service with great professionalism.
A very good table where you can enjoy a lot...

We are entitled to expect a lot from this address which proudly shows its Michelin and Gault distinctions.
If the service is intended to be high-end, it is ultimately bordering on the unpleasant.
The menu does not sweat originality, and the dishes leave no memory.

Kind, friendly welcome. Very ordinary cuisine (snails, scallops and sweetbreads). Correct wines. Very disappointing value for money.
Plus we were next to a table of idiots who screamed with laughter every 15 seconds, as if they thought they were alone. Worse than a tavern.....
and I'm not saying anything about the toilet light going off when you're urinating, bring your flashlight!!

A must-see restaurant in Les Sables D Olonne! Seasonal products sublimated “Bertrand” style, you will not be disappointed. The welcome is warm.
Remember to book, this address is known and very popular with lovers of dishes full of flavors🤩👍

Very disappointed. However, we followed the recommendation of the Michelin guide.
Quite disappointing starter, main course: delicious fish, especially the very well-made sauce. Norwegian omelette lacking lightness.
Excellent white wine. Unfortunately we leave the restaurant filled with the smell of cooking, what a shame!

It is tiny. It's all elegant. The hostess is charming and professional.
And all very good. An accidental downside: business obliges, accepting a table of 8 place settings in this space... We couldn't even hear the snickering of the seagulls anymore!
We will come back!

Even if easily walked past without paying attention, this restaurant merits exactly that, your attention.
The restaurant is a small, cozy place with 20 seats located near the waterfront. Traditional, but not boring, setting.
The menu is small, which typically is a good sign. All dishes are delicious, as fresh as they can be and well executed and presented.
Some amuses bouches start of the experience, followed by copious, pretty and flavourful dishes and desserts.
The winelist is the same, not too big, with good recommendations of the lady if the house on top, even some off menu choices.
So, make a reservation, carve out a few hours in your calendar and enjoy.

There is an art to making sophisticated dishes seem so simple that a customer thinks they might have been able to cook it. This is the genius of La Cuisine de Bertrand.
From an assortment of amuse bouche pastries through home made terrine de fois gras and on through a beautifully presented ‘Bar Sauvage’ and a Tarte Fine, there was nothing to fault.
We could not have been made to feel more welcome and, based on the way the tables filled up, there are plenty who agree.

A lovely restaurant on the port of Sables d'Olonne. The menu was varied and we all had something different yet equally excellent. Portion size was also very good - especially the desserts and the kid's menu.
The waiting staff were very patient with me and my pidgin French and always friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend La Cuisine de Betrand for anyone wanting a local dining experience.

Very restaurant. Short menu and perfect quality. The young couple owner is absolutely perfect. And the meals are amazing. We have been very lucky to book a table, last minute with a lovely view on the Harbor and warm welcome.
