I used to go there - not only Italian but French too. Good quality, not a high gastronomic restaurant but fine enough :-)

Every time I go through Niort, I make sure I have a meal here. The food is traditional, but absolutely excellent and the service is superb! One of the oldest restaurants in town. The owners are fabulously friendly.
Lots of choice of the usual Italian fayre right in the centre of a bustling French town. We were warmly greeted by a smiling waiter. The restaurant was warm cosy and welcoming. We were both boring and had pizza, which was tasty and good value....More
A wide range of French and Italian dishes. All well cooked and served. Pizzas are particularly good. Seating is adequate but it always seems to be crowded, even the pavement terrace.
Poor service from some of the staff, especially the owner/manager who was rude. Not very authentically Italian. They sat us at a booth near the kitchen with the waiting staff stomping past every few seconds. The booth was also home to a colony of Mosquitos.
Again, if really like italian food.......go to Italy. The stuff you get abroad is only average. The restaurant was not bad, prices are reasonable, but the menu is not typical italian, it is french.
ok, the food wasn't the best but the people were. I am disabled and the boss drove us home as we couldn't get a taxi. His wife was fabulous and our waiter called Alexander was atttentative and spoke english
