Traditional old fashioned cafe with classic style of coffee and tea varieties. The cakes and tarts selection ist very good and hand made by the owners and their team. In case you need a sweet break before you klimb up the stairway to the castle of Meersburg? Stop here and get some tastee energy. :-)

Cafe Gross is known for their torts, and it is WORTH the drive to find them. Carefully crafted treats melt in your mouth and earn every sweet calorie. I'd run a marathon to eat as much as possible. Great cafe. Go find it!

I noticed the sweets are "more authentic" in Europe, not over done or fake or tainted like in the US, where we live. My husband is a diabetic addicted to sweets and because I cater to him with a loving open mind I went along for the sweet ride on a rainy afternoon the first of September. We ducked into... More

We visited here on a really hot day and the inside seating was cool and comfortable. Whoever makes the cakes and tortes knows how to bake. The sponges were light and the sweet of the cream contrasted well with the sharpness of the raspberries in the torte we had. The staff were also very helpful.

Highly recommended by Tripadvisor and others, we targeted this cafe as we made our way into town. We were not disappointed. My friend got the Black Forest Cake, which I also tried and was very impressed. It was superbly delicious. I myself had the plum torte, which was very good as well (truly first rate), although not quite as fantastically... More

This past May I returned to Meersburg and the Café Gross. I tried the strawberry cream cake (erdbeer sahne) made with fresh strawberries and topped with white chocolate shavings and a dab of whipped cream. The cream may even be a mousse. The whole pastry is so light that it melts in your mouth. I couldn't choose between this and... More

Whatever you do, don't miss Cafe Gross in Meersburg! As someone who bakes, I am extremely choosy about purchased baked goods. The cake we ate at the café, is amongst the best I have ever had. It is homemade on the premises. It was a rainy day, so we were happy to sit under the awning out front eating our... More

With very comfortable roadside seating, we have enjoyed their yummy cakes and a cup of coffee with tourists-watching on the busy street. I tried their Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, the black forest cake. It has very strong liquor inside and I immediately got drunk. Besides, the cake was delicious and the coffee was strong, we were very much satisfied for stopping by... More
