We went to Yvette's on the recommendation of a friend who travels often to St Martin. We were advised to make a reservation after 6:30 and to bring cash. We had a little trouble finding it coming from Orient Bay, but spotted the little sign after turning around. We were greeted by Yvette's grandson and shown into the air conditioned... More

Ribs, johnny cakes, conch ceviche, fish cakes, whole snapper creole style and fried plantains - This is authentic Caribbean food, prepared and served by a friendly family. There is a mix of seafood and meat on the menu, our dishes were flavourful and simply prepared, a nice change from the typical tourist fare on the island. The dining room is... More

The best authentic Caribbean-food restaurant in the region. Food presentation always good. Johnny cakes to die for. Conch appetizer is the best. Succulent stewed shrimp dish, or banging broiled whole snapper with fungi. Always more than enough rice and peas, as well as fried ripe plantain. Warm coconut tart for dessert. Excellent value for money.

Everything we had at Chez Yvette's was delicious, and the service was fantastic. We had the conch soup, whole snapper prepared both in the creole and pan-fried, and it was all delicious. The conch is amazing and the snapper was definitely among the most fresh -- and definitely the most delicious -- fish we had on the island. Affordable, simple,... More

Want to eat at a "local's" restaurant that many tourists treat as a destination event? Try Yvette's. Alas, Yvette is no longer with us after many years, but her family continues to run the place and we haven't noticed many changes over a number of years. This is basic down home country cooking; I can tie many aspects of this... More

The food is authentic, Caribbean/Creole cuisine. Sauces are great. Fish, chicken, meat are all prepared well and are all fresh. Main courses come with great sides like rice and peas, Johnny Cakes, and fried plantains. Salt cod fritters come with a great dipping sauce. Service is friendly and efficient. It was kind of cute that our server wore a shirt... More

We were pleasantly surprised that our friends took us to this restaurant. We ordered creole red snapper, creole combo, creole shrimp and garlic shrimp. All were scrumptious. The Johnny cake and the plantains were the best I've ever had. I can't forget the satisfying beans and rice. The salad was colorful, yet fresh. Even the salad dressing was homemade!! I... More

We have eaten here many times and never been disappointed. Conch chowder is the best I've ever had. Also conch and dumplings is fantastic. Great atmosphere and always some great conversations.

So glad we made the effort to make a reservation and go for dinner at Yvette's. Loved the friendly wait staff - especially the handsome young man with matching shirt to tablecloth! Very laid back but professional at the same time - for a restaurant within a home! I ordered the red snapper creole style, which was absolutely delicious! The... More

Have always wanted to visit and today we were passing this way, so we stopped for lunch. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table that was covered in a bright plaid cloth. The food was delicious and very reasonable, great service too. Cash only. We will definitely recommend and return!
