In a group of nine three of us has the veggie options - now not all restaurants do this well but we found that both the nut roast and Mediterranean Veggie Pies were absolutely delicious. They came with all the roast potatoes and veg as...the none veggies and were just as satisfying as you would expect a Sunday roast to be. The none veggies enjoyed their's too and just to add that the service was excellent with very attentive staff happy to supply extra gravy etc. We look forward to coming here again.More

Three of us went for lunch at the Old Walls Vineyard today ; such a peaceful and relaxing place to sit and enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and the sea in the distance . The staff are lovely , welcoming and helpful...throughout . The food was delicious ; fresh and home-made . Great ideas to sell gift vouchers ; my sister bought a voucher for the bistro and a bottle of wine for an imminent birthday ! Both were beautifully presented - lovely as a present - no need to wrap . Such a good idea ! Thank you .More

Met friends here for lunch two days in succession. Sunday lunch was delicious. Variety of vegetables and all cooked beautifully. Day 2 was a toasted sandwich. Again lovely! Excellent service. Very friendly. Great coffee.

We visit regularly with our dogs for breakfast/lunch and can’t fault. The atmosphere, food, service and views are great. It’s also nice to see the owner helping out and checking that everyone’s enjoying themselves.

Fish meal with roast vegetables side dish. Fish full of water, batter somewhat bigger than actual content and watery. No sign of roasted vegetables green beans plus others non of the usual roasted vegetables. Roasted they were not. Whole meal tasteless…..regular chef is on holiday…should...that make a difference?More

Personally the food was average and sadly not reflected in the price - 15GBP for a steak pie which doesn't have any steak in and comes with a small helping of cabbage, potatoe and a carrot is on the expensive side. Great setting and staff...amazing, just think pricing structure needs to be rethought.More

Popped in for a lunch, we hadn’t booked but they quickly made up a table for us. We both live locally and have enjoyed a meal here many times before with our own families. My friends prawn jacket potato was delicious she said and my...club sandwich was delicious too. Service was excellent and it was spotlessly clean everywhere. Looking forward to returning again soon.More

We have eaten here many times in the past - generally speaking we love it. Lovely location, staff always helpful and friendly and food usually excellent. Took some friends for their first visit today and whilst overall everything was fine I have to say that...my steak was not good. Really tough and chewy and yes I know I should have complained at the time but with friends visiting for the first time I didn't want to make a fuss. I did however mention it to the waitress when we paid and she said she would pass it on. Hopefully the chef will have a word with their meat supplier. I must say that everyone else in our party of four were very pleased with their meals..A very small hiccup regarding my request for vegetables as I don't eat tomatoes or mushrooms but the owner happened to be sitting at the next table and stepped in to sort things out very quickly to every ones satisfaction. A really nice touch!!! So, would we go back - yes of course we would as I'm sure today was just a blip and won't be repeated. Still highly recommended.More

My daughter and I were bought an afternoon tea voucher for when we were on holiday in Devon. I was blown away with how pretty the place is, they’ve got the most amazing view overlooking Teignmouth and towards the sea. It was throwing it down...when we arrived so sadly we had to sit inside, but you can see the view through the large glass bi-folding doors. My husband, son and dog had planned to go for a nice walk but due to the rain they couldn’t, I asked if they could join us and they were very easily accommodated. It is sometimes hard to find a dog friendly place so we were really happy. The afternoon tea was the best we’ve had! A lovely chunky tea pot, with more than enough tea and the sandwiches, scones and cakes were magnificent! There was so much we took some home! I had a wonderful glass of rose too. My husband had a gorgeous chicken burger and chips from the specials boards. I would absolutely love to be in the area to return and perhaps try a lodge and wine tasting tour. The staff are super friendly too. Finally, the sun came out and we were able to stand outside and admire the view.More

The views are great and during the summer the seating area outside is lovely, but I would recommend the place for drinks or coffees only. I've eaten there twice now, once last year which was an average experience, and I attempted to give it another...try again today. There were only 4 tables with customers to serve. We waited over 45 minutes for our lunches. When we enquired about the delay we were told that their delivery lorry was late, which would have been good to have been told prior to ordering so we could have made an informed decision about whether to stay. I ordered a prawn sandwich which @ £7.95 was way over priced for what turned up. The presentation of the sandwich was poor. Bread that looked like it had come from a sliced loaf with more marie-rose sauce than prawns which was dripping out the side of the sandwich, a bit of salad and a few crips. The gentleman at the table next to us commented that my sandwich didn't look any better than something I'd buy at a motorway service station. My son's Regents breakfast was ok but the egg was broken and the yoke had all run under the ramekin dish with the baked beans in it, and the toast was uncut and looked like it was a last minute thought. What with the overpricing and the blasé attitude to the delay we decided to go and eat elsewhere, as did the couple sat near us on another table, who were also fed up with the wait and put off by the presentation of our food. Not at anytime did the manager come out to apologise. I feel sorry for anyone booking a wedding or a function up there if this is how they carry on and don't serve food that is worthy of the prices they charge. I won't be going back there again and will not be recommending it to anyone else.More
