This is our local and we visit frequently. They do an OAP menu for £6.50 for one course and they are really tasty and generous - or that should be WERE. Recently we had a truly outstanding lasagne, with chips and a nice side salad in one of those oval dishes that most seem to be cooked in nowadays. We... More

My family and I were staying at Bluestone and were looking for a nice pub that also provided food. The Boars Head is only 15/20 minutes drive away. The welcome was good, drinks and food excellent if a little pricey. We would certainly return.

Our 1st visit was for a Sunday lunch. It was very busy there but staff were very attentive and service was prompt. The meal was excellent, with a good selection of fresh veg. Although it was busy, the tables were not rammed together, but well spaced out, affording a little personal space to each party.I thought this was a real... More

Good atmosphere, the restaurant is nicely decorated and good starter and mains menu including a specials board. There is also an area there for families with a play area for little ones.Waiter came to take our order,... More

We are local and had family staying and having been here before, decided to take our guests out for a meal. From the moment we walked in the door, the lovely barman looked after us extremely well. The food was lovely and tasty and even though it was very busy and the staff were running around all over the place,... More

However some of the meals were not brilliant, requested extra gravy which did not arrive a side dish arrived after meal was finished, all acceptable mistakes. However a lamb burger ordered was not cooked... More

It was a pleasure eating at the Boar's Head. I was frankly starving and I'd had enough of cooking so off we went. We ordered house burgers - I had venison and my son had beef. My daughter decided she wasn't too hungry and opted for sweet potato fries. The meals were served on a cutting board. I find this... More

Stayed in the village of Templeton for a long weekend to celebrate my fathers 80th birthday and the Boars Head was conveniently located and very welcoming to us. This is a Marston's pub - one of the better 'chain' pubs and the ales were very well kept. We decided to have a meal there on the Saturday night and the... More
