We booked to have an evening meal here and we are so glad we did. The welcome was warm and friendly, the staff very helpful. The food was of good portions and really hearty. I tried the Chicken and Haggis Burger, oh my goodness - so delicious. I wholly recommend it, yum yum :-) Just the job after a train... More

Post concert in Skipton, we tend to fall into The Narrow Boat. I cannot comment on the food, I cannot comment on what it is like in daylight even. But the ales are varied and really well kept. The bar staff are opinionated and well informed about the beers - and that suits me nicely. I may not agree, but... More

Came here for dinner one evening with friends & their dog. The staff were very welcoming, the beer was really good & great choice. I had the steak & ale pie & wasn't disappointed, plenty of tasty filling (veg needs to be ordered separately but is fresh & good selection).

I often have a pint or two here when in Skipton and it's always a relaxing and friendly place, with a good selection of cask ales, which you can sample in advance. The Black Sheep Baa Baa IPA was our favourite. Recommended,

Met some friends for a bite to eat and a pint on their recommendation. We weren't disappointed. Ended up Sat their eating great food and good ales for 5 hours. People kept coming and going and the atmosphere was great and staff were welcoming and friendly. My last drink was a well made gin and tonic. Overall, what better way... More

We have visited the Narrow Boat on several evenings, with friends, and have had drinks (no food) in a very pleasant, comfortable, warm and welcoming atmosphere. On this occasion we arrived, having had a 3 mile walk in the rain with our dog, in need of rest and refreshment. We found the staff to be very welcoming, even in our... More

Sometimes simple polite attentive staff is all you need to feel comfortable and welcome. We have been before and it was extremely busy, but on a Tuesday late lunch time you could have been tempted to think as it was quiet move on! But don't the food is really good, decent portions without being out facing. I had my first... More

We ate a Sunday roast here and even though there was only the choice of 'beef', it was thoroughly delicious, arrived promptly and was good value at c £9.

Called here for a change. Lovely Sunday lunch, nice crisp vegetables and good portions of sliced beef, homemade roasties and Yorkshire puds. The other food being brought out was also of good portion size, the pies looked interesting and again homemade. Lovely selection of ales and lagers to accompany the food. Puddings were a good size and very reasonably priced.... More
