Having visited this pub several times over the last few months to eat and have never been disappointed. Food is always excellent, well prepared and served and at a reasonable price. Staff are friendly and helpful and service is excellent. Can not find fault

After the many good reviews we were excited about this place. On arrival the pub is perfect and pretty, very busy - a good sign! A table for two, drinks order taken. Menu - plentiful and a gluten free selection. Perfect. Options considered and orders placed we were excited about what we were about to get, until it arrived.... Uncooked... More

I visited this pub with a group of friends on a Friday evening and even though it was very busy we were served quickly and efficiently by a very pleasant waitress. There were several other large groups of people in the pub, but the kitchen staff seemed to be able to keep up with their meal choices even though the... More

We stayed in the small village of Winsley for 3 nights so visited this pub twice. It's a lovely pub suited to eating in rather than grabbing a table for the night and just having a drink as all the tables were reserved for dining. There is a garden area which I imagine is lovely in the summer. A choice... More

OK, this may be a personal gripe, it may not bother you. But soon after we'd been seated in this very attractive gastropub by the exceptionally pleasant staff, a couple of young kids began a game that involved running back and forth across the dining area, jumping up and down a set of stairs (*thump*!) while shrieking merrily. This went... More

One of the really good things about the Cask-Marque Ale Trail, is if you want to turn those little pump handles on the apps map green (C-MAT followers will know what I mean) you've got to go off piste and ski on slopes not often travelled. And in so doing, one comes across real gems by way of establishments. Following... More

We chose this slightly out of the way village pub for a mid-week lunch and were not disappointed. The old exterior hides a bright, newly-decorated interior. The staff are extremely welcoming. We started with utterly delicious dishes of delicious hummous and mushrooms with aioli. We had spotted the brill with curried mussel chowder and had set our hearts on that,... More

Whilst staying locally at Burghope Manor, we were recommended to try the local pub for evening dinner. The warm and friendly welcome from the staff was great. They couldn't do enough and the service was top notch. The choice of food was very good and with hubby being gluten free, the options were fantastic for him. I tried the warm... More

Went in for lunch last week and as always, made very welcome. My husband ordered venison and declared it the best ever. I had a vegetarian Wellington which was really tasty! All in all we can't fault it.
