Called in here on the way home on a long journey. Good to find a place doing food all day, and not finishing at 3.00 pm, which is, oddly enough, a time when some people like to eat. Had a wonderful welcome by friendly staff at a pretty quiet time. Starter was devoured and the mains served in good time.... More

We popped in for lunch just before picking up our canal boat from the boat yard next door. We sat in the garden (which is big and had kids running about) in the sun. None of us were very hungry so we had 'light meals'...nachos, soup, salads etc All of our party of five were very happy with their choice... More

After reading some of the reviews on TripAdvisor about this place I was expecting surly staff and an aggressive cook! Instead I saw smiling faces with a helpful attitude who despite being very busy managed to keep all the customers happy. My room was small but clean and overlooked the canal. For dinner I ordered belly pork with mash and... More

Having recently moved to Bradford on Avon I had heard of the awful reputation of the cook known as Annie in The Barge. I can confirm she is indeed rude!!!

After a long trip down the Kennet and Avon canal, we moored up at Bradford-on-Avon and went in search of some lunch. As we walked into the bar we noticed one of the presumed owners tucking into a roast beef baguette with a side of roast potatoes and pot of gravy. It looked delicious and had our collective stomach rumbling.... More

Asked for a roast beef baguette on a sunday when they had roast beef on because we saw an employee eating one and they said it wasnt on the menu. They reluctantly accepted our order with an attitude and brought us the baguettes which were very tasty. Well presented, delicious gravy and horseradish with super tender medium cooked roast beef.... Had lunch here today, they had open fires burning, which was lovely on such a windy cold day. We all enjoyed our meals, I had the sausages which were very tasty and nicely presented but the food wasn't hot enough. The desserts were also good. I would definitely go there again.

4 adults, 4 children and 1 dog for Sunday lunch, we all had a roast and we all agreed it was one of the best we'd had and great value for money. Great kids sized portions and plenty for the adults as well. Good selection of veg and awesome cauliflower cheese! Relaxed setting and good service.

Have been many times, sometimes, prob more often than not the Sunday Roast are spot on, plenty of meat n veg. However have been there later in the afternoon and have clearly been given pre-prepared veg that has been sitting there for too long, not fresh. Typical of us all tho, mustn't grumble. Just get there early, good value if... More

We went here as an anniversary treat from our daughter and family. IT had just been refurbished, and the standard of decor is very high. THE food took rather a long time, but when it finally arrived it was excellent, to be fair, our waitress had only started working there that decorated, o it was all new to her. The... More
