A fantastic find - old English pub that oozes history and atmosphere. Lovely fire burning inside, great staff and a fantastic selection of food that was quickly served, piping hot and very well cooked. The steak was best in a long time, and the burger enjoyed by kids. But the dessert menu and dishes were something else - creme egg... More

Pity we only had time for a drink! Pub is split into two areas - as you enter you can go left or right. Left is a small, cosy lounge and right is a larger dining area. Great ambiance either way:) Good selection of cask ales. As with most pubs in the area, it's dog friendly. Hope to return to... More

Called in last evening , and we both had a main course next to the open fire , the food was really really good , we waited a little while ,as everything is clearly made from scratch ,and we could hear the hive of activity in the back ... Will definitely be going on our venue list ..... Well worth... More

We really enjoyed our lunch here today. My other half said it was the best meal out he had had in a long while. He had beef burger topped with cheese, onion rings and chips. I had a ham sandwich which contained layers and layers of lovely ham. Delicious

Staff went out of their way to offer 3 extra gluten free/vegetarian options that weren't on their menu, great demonstration that the food is made fresh and from scratch. For those that didn't have such difficult dietary requirements, then the steak and ale pie was very much enjoyed too. A great restaurant that really understands what coeliacs need and goes... More

We stopped in at the bulls head for lunch while hiking last weekend, this is a lovely country pub with friendly staff and amazing food, we both had a burger and it was amazing, the food was delicious and the presentation was spot on. Really friendly staff and customers, they have a box of poly feet by the front door... More

A very beautiful village and a cosy, hearty pub. Friendly service. We didn't eat but the menu looked good. Everything you would want from a pub! Full of character and cheer! Will definitely be going back when I am back in the Peak district.

Lovely pub with a roaring fire and great food. Great seating area in the garden on a summer's day. Well worth a visit. Chicken pie is fantastic.

I came here years ago and decided to visit again after moving back to the area. The pub is nice and food good however the bar team were efficient but not at all friendly. This is a real shame as it would make this a great place to visit.

Thank HeafR
