We came here after a 6 mile walk so us and the kids were exhausted. It was a relief we found it at all. We came in at 12:30pm and didn't leave until 2:30! The food was great and the staff are very friendly. I would definitely recommend this for people with young children, teens, couples, solo and even as... More

We have been many times over the years and really only go if we cant be bothered walking over to Tideswell. In a nutshell the food is OK but not as sparkly as the menu would have you believe. Its not the cheapest around but I dont feel the quality reflects the prices, although the portions are huge but size... More

We had a good walk in a nice area followed by a rest in a homely pub with friendly and helpful staff. It had real ale on sale which was well looked after. A real fire warmed 2 rooms, but our table was in a back room near the toilets and was not so cosy. Food was OK (although a... More

This was our second weekend break at the Red Lion during the last 9 months. Our previous visit was in the summer and last weekend it proved to be the perfect location to explore the area and enjoy the snow over a couple of nights, with amazing nearby views. After 11 miles walking the Red Lion gave a warm welcoming... More

Arrived here exhausted after having been walking for six hours! Tired legs and wet, sore feet and dying for a large beer! A huge fire was burning in the grate and walkers and locals alike joined in the chat whilst we made friends with the dogs and dried out our socks! The food was wholesome and tasty....exactly what was required... More

While staying in Litton for the weekend, my partner and I, along with our dog, went for a Friday evening meal at The Red Lion. After crunching across the village green in the snow, it was a delight to enter the warm, cosy pub and see the fireplace glowing. The friendly staff seated us at a corner table so that... More

My wife and I rediscovered this fabulous pub again today, having first visited about 4 years ago. So glad we took the trouble to find it. The beer was great (Bakewell Best Bitter). The steak and ale pie was delicious, served with chips, carrots and parsnips of an equally high standard. Service was friendly and efficient. There was a really... More

The theme was Tartan and Tiaras - we were welcomed with champagne and canapes (delicious). Live music and the tables were beautifully set up - the atmosphere was just right. The food was fantastic definitely complements to the chef Ricky. After devouring the 6 courses we were invited to dance whilst the singer expertly sang. What a way to welcome... More
