Wow, what a great find. My husband and I went here for dinner on our vacation and loved everything. My husband got the Irish steak and I got the salmon with beurre Blanc and we split a salad with warm goat cheese and beets. Outstanding! Go here! Also, nice bistro like atmosphere.

After arriving at 5am, getting our rooms at the Adare Manor and a quick nap, we headed to the village of Adare for dinner. Four couples with dinner reservations at 6:30. It's difficult to get reservations for 8 and then you never know where you will be sitting in the restaurant. The Blue Door was amazing. It is not a large dining area but very comfortable. We were seated, ordered drinks and wine and were never rushed. From the hostess to the servers it was excellent service. The winner appetizer was the Warm Goat Cheese and the dinner dish the Filet of Kenmore Salmon. But every dish was wonderful and served hot...difficult when there 8 dishes to serve. We would highly recommend this restaurant just outside the town gate to the Adare Manor.

We stayed at Dunraven Arms which is across the street from the Blue Door. We had a 6:30 reservation so got the Early Bird Menu with excellent pricing. Two people had the scallops which they said were fantastic and were huge & one had salmon which was also very good. Nice variety of menu options and wine/drink choices. Inside is small so we decided to eat outside in a white tent. Service was excellent and food memorable. Friends who went the next night also loved their meals and decided to go two nights in a row. Don’t think you would be disappointed with anything on the menu!

Four Ladies and American friend. It was so disappointing even though the food was delicious, the portions were so very small and over priced. The young gentlemen staff hadn't a clue on anything we asked of them. ( promotion on fireplace, sign on small table, M.S.G.)
We will not be back.

The first part of our experience was great, a young girl took our lunch order and I got shepherd’s pie and my friend had a nice salad . Great!! A large group came in next to us
Us and it was all downhill. We asked after waiting awhile to please give us our check and they served the people next to us, and ( I noticed a couple in a corner were being treated the same as us) .then the wait staff were back in the back laughing and talking. I finally had to get up again and ask a lad to tap her on the shoulder and give us our check.A few minutes later, she did, But the food was good!

The price of an apple pie slice was €7.50 and it was very small. We are in Killarney National Park a few days later and an apple pie slice was only €3.95. The blue door is price gouging. The apple pie didn’t have much flavour either

Definitely not!!Tomato and basil soup was obviously diluted with water. Three scallops which were priced at €29.00 served with dried potatoes. Overpriced and poor food. Don’t waste your time or money.

I had a goats cheese, walnut and beetroot salad and it was awful. Nobody checked to see if it. Was ok. The cheese is quite dry and the salad leaves were dressed in vinegar then plopped on top was cheese and dry walnuts. I asked for some honey which helped a bit but I didn’t even finish Hal’s of it. My husband had a prawn cocktail which was very nice and asked for some more brown bread, he got Two half slices and was charged €2.50. The staff were young and were completely inexperienced. I told the young girl who came when we called for the bill that the salad was not good and she said ‘I’ll tell the chef’.

Myself and my sister called into this cafe / restaurant on our way back to county sligo .
We were seated and handed a menu by a very pleasant young man who also told us what the special of the day one . I had prawns and salmon on a open sandwich and a coke my sister had the shepherds pie, where as my food was acceptable my sisters pie had hardly any mash potato and contains over the average amount of peas . She managed to eat about half of the pie .
Regarding social distancing to be honest we did not think the tables were far enough apart.
The young man was very polite but unfortunately there was a waitress serving other tables who not once smiled or acknowledged her customers . It appeared like she was doing one a big favour and this was very off putting .
The food was overpriced particularly as my sisters food wasn’t great quality .
We were only passing through and would never venture into this place again . The young waiter was very polite and in no way is any of my remarks regarding the food or service directed at him .
There are other establishments in Adare I’m sure would give better food and I’m sure the staff are much more polite

We stopped for lunch while on a stroll exploring Adare. Lovely warm greeting from attentive young waiters, which was a great start to our meal. We are outdoors in a covered space just as you enter the premises. We noted they were rigorously checking Covid passports for those seeking indoor dining, which was reassuring.
My husband ordered the pepperoni pizza and I had the cottage pie. We had a Chianti with it that was divine — an unexpected treat to find such a delicious wine at such an affordable price.
The food was delicious, with generous portions. I could not fault any of it. We were too full for dessert but that is not a bad complaint!
We noticed the wait staff being super friendly to all their customers, especially the fair haired young man and dark haired girl serving in our section — both were a credit to the restaurant.
A nice spot for lunch!

We were lucky enough to get a table for dinner outside this quaint restaurant during the recent mini heatwave in Ireland. Adare is so beautiful with thatched cottages making it a picture perfect place to visit. Our food was wonderful (both ordered fish) and service was great. They actually starting stopping people coming in around 7.30pm so we felt so lucky to have found the restaurant before it would have been too late. Definitely would recommend if you are venturing through Adare.

My husband and I genuinely enjoyed our dining experience at The Blue Door Adare. As we entered the restaurant, we were welcomed warmly by a young waitress and were tended to frequently throughout our meal. The food was delicious as my husband and I opted for the salmon on a bed of spinach. The pleasant atmosphere of the cottage added to our experience. We expect to be back again soon.

The night started off with a great introduction and the covid passes being checked which is good to see that they are being put to use. The well decorated interior is full of wonderful paintings. It matches the food perfectly as my wife has never been more pleased with the food she has gotten in a restaurant. She got the scallops and was amazed at the size and tastiness of them. I ordered the fillet of salmon and it was absolutely delightful. Everything was cooked to perfection. The waiters made sure to be friendly and even were smiling and waving at my new born. It was amazing to see the kind hearted young staff enjoying their job while getting all of their work done at the same time. The whole night was fantastic and we will definitely be going back next time we are passing through Adare.

Wife and I stopped here for dinner on our way back to Limerick. By the way, Adare is a beautiful Irish town worth visiting. Staff at the Blue Door were extremely friendly and very efficient. Wife had salmon, I had their hamburger and both were very good. Dessert was fresh baked brownies with ice cream. Prices were comparable to dinner in Limerick. They also have a good wine and beer selection.

I dined at the Blue Door in Adare today for lunch with two friends. I have a serious allergy to eggs and peanuts and I informed the waiter of this fact. I reiterated that it was a serious situation and that it was very important that no item in my food can contain either of these ingredients. When my food arrived there was a mayonnaise-based dressing on the salad. It was very lucky I spotted this before I had taken a bite as I would have been seriously ill otherwise. I informed the waiter and my food was replaced with little apology. This service is not good enough about a very serious matter.
