We went because it was listed as the #1 restaurant in Kilorglin. The atmosphere was cool, and the service was good, but for a "piano bar" restaurant on a Thursday evening, we hoped for something more than taped music. The Calimari appetizer was very good, as was the seafood chowder and seafood mornay. The salmon was ok, but nothing exceptional.

I have visited Sol y Sombra Tapas three times now, I ate well and loved what I ate, they are always accommodating and have a great menu and selection of drinks.

We were passing through Killorglin and though we sadly didn't have time to stay for supper we popped into our old favourite Sol y Sombra where they were very welcoming and happy for us just to have tea. It is a wonderful building - an old church - and the welcome and service were brilliant. We have had great meals... More

This Spanish Tapas bar in located in an old church. My husband and I had dinner there last week and really enjoyed it. I would make another trip back there next time I'm in Ireland.

We were dining elsewhere and found this lovely place in the hour before our dinner. Popping in to a partially renovated church building to meet a real Spanish experience was fascinating. Every member of the staff appeared to be Spanish, and the cuisine and wines certainly were. We actually bought some of their wines to take away!

This feels like going to a really cool restaurant in Catalunya for the evening - they have a fantastic venue in the converted church (gorgeous inside, and lovely garden outside) but its really the staff and the wonderful food they produce that make it such a good experience

We eat here every time we come to Killorglin, and are never disappointed with the food. A great selection, every dish is delicious! It was a busy night during our last visit, and the service wasn't great - they have managed well every other time despite seeming just as busy.

Wonderful old church, just went for a pre-dinner drink, wish we could've stayed longer. Seemed very elegant, and had a lovely atmosphere

Went for dinner. Pleasant but slow service. Lovely old church with a location and setting that promised so much. Food generous portion but lacking refinement and flavour. Rudimentary presentation. Kids meal tasteless ( pasta and sauce). Not recommended (even though in Michelin guide etc) and not worth the drive out from Killarney.
