During our three days touring the Ring of Kerry, we took a ferry from the mainland in Cahersiveen and Renard's Point out to Valentina Island. The trip out there was beautiful and off the beaten trail with cliffs almost as dramatic as those in Moher but without the buses and tourists. The ferry is a quick 5 minutes out but... More

I had the seafood sampler and thought I died and went to heaven! The smoked salmon for divine! I wish I could have spent more time in Cahersiveen just to eat here again!

Go for the seafood. This restaurant's bread and butter is serving whatever is caught fresh that day in the waters around Portmagee. Good ambiance, kitschy decor, this really feels like it is a product of its environment, and in this case, it's a great thing.

I found the food to be pub food but at gourmet prices and it certainly is not gourmet. Local folk had told me it was the best seafood around-believe me it is not. There is nothing majorly wrong with it just that it has pretensions of grander for basic fare. For instance a plate with about half a dozen hake... More

Stopped here before the ferry at the rec of our Airbnb hosts- they were spot on! The lobster was AMAZING!!! We had such a nice time chatting with the owners - they are lovely people and incredibly friendly.

You'll get a really warm welcome, table service ( even for a coffee) and some of the freshest fish in Kerry all with a view over the sea to Valentia Island less than a mile away. The fresh salmon and the fresh crab served on brown bread are particularly recommended especially with a glass of dry white wine.

Fish is caught on the day, fresh and worth the wait. No bookings, but show up and staff go out of their way to accommodate everyone. Absolutely brilliant system. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening! We'll be back! Most definitely!
