Social night out in nice environment. Plenty of interesting photos on all the walls. Food was generally good but not exceptional. It was served with a professional touch and not over expensive. It lived up to its reputatation but there are better places to dine out in the town.

We visited on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was quite full. The food and service was superb. We would highly recommend this restaurant if in Athlone.

Visited again on trip from Dublin. My friend and I both had fillet steaks. They were absolutely amazing. We had Greek salad for starters and toblerone cheesecake for desert, coffee and wine. All fantastic. Great value for money too. Staff could not be more pleasant and attentive even though restaurant was so busy. Thanks everyone. Hope to visit again in... More

I ate here a few weeks ago, it was my second time to dine here! I had brie to start which was very nice and the portion was generous but my main course which was a beef sizzling dish with chilli and orange, was quite sickening. It was super sweet and sticky which I can appreciate when done properly but... More

Had a family meal to celebrate a birthday. Good value and excellent food. Staff very attentive and friendly. A little noisy but other people were enjoying themselves. Their steaks are to die for.

This is a lovely little pub with a very delicious menu and phenomenal service. It is old and quaint with a wonderful history. Very quiet, as well. We were able to easily carry on a conversation. Would definitely go again!

Had a business dinner in Hatters last month with visitors from UK and everything was excellent. A guinness in Gurty Browns then downstairs to Hatters....just perfect. Our visitors were very impressed with the ambiance, the service and more importantly the meal. We had a great evening and will definitely be back next time in Athlone.

An absolutely wonderful evening and beautiful meal. Loved the surroundings in the dining area but a visit to the pub upstairs is a must for its atmosphere

Thank Gerry R

Welcome to Hatter's Lane Bistro at Strand Street on Athlone's Leinster shore. Ideally located 3 minutes from the Town Bridge, Radisson, Prince of Wales and Sheraton hotels. The Hollywood themed bistro offers a welcoming cosy atmosphere with open fire, check table clothes, walls adorned with movie star icons. The background music is easy listening typically featuring tunes from Sinatra, Martin, Bennett and the likes...
Running in tandem with Gertie Brown's old world award winning pub, Hatters Lane offers the customer a unique and satisfying dining experience and hopefully will continue to serve great food well for years to come...
