Visited in November for lunch. Very busy but after eating here I can see why. Great service, homely food and friendly staff. Daily specials have something for everyone. The chicken ham and potato bake with salad and a glass of red went down very nicely.

As noted we arrived mid afternoon and decided to have some cheese and biscuits and a glass of champagne. We were not disappointed, some lovely local cheeses as well as French, very, very nice.

Unfortunately, I cant rate the food.. drink.. or service at Barberstown Castle. We arrived hoping to sit for coffee and cake at their tea rooms this afternoon. We walked into the near empty room, except one other table, and were promptly greeted at the door by an extremely apologetic waitress to tell us we couldnt sit as there are no... More

The venue is pretty and the waitresses friendly but unfortunately that is as positive as I can be. We arrived at 2.30 for a late lunch (they serve until 5pm). We were seated, glasses of water were provided and our orders were quickly taken.Three minutes later the waitress returned to check what our order was(she hadn't written it down and... More

Food is absolutely gorgeous! The atmosphere is very calming with a great pianist playing the piano in the background. Although the staff were very busy,(it was Mother's Day!!) each member of the team was very welcoming and attentive to our every need. Will definitely be back soon

Fire lighting in the large warm room, high ceilings and a mini grand piano create a luxurious touch. Beautiful piano music accompanied our high tea. Three tiered sandwich and cake platter displayed delicious mini treats. Discrete and friendly staff leave you in peace to chat and enjoy a relaxing and atmospheric tea. A real treat.

Staff were friendly but as the reception staff were doubling as the restaurant staff, service was VERY slow. The room was very hot and my three children went out to look at the robot-mower in the garden outside. When my mother and I followed them my son had climbed a tree (which I consider to be normal behaviour by an... More
