Went for breakfast and was greeted by a very unhappy member of staff. The breakfast was served within minutes of ordering and was very disappointing. The bacon was under cooked and the scrambled eggs were tasteless and rubbery. I guess the whole breakfast was microwaved. The toast was nice. Very disappointing as the setting was lovely and the deli counter... More

We ate a late breakfast at 9:45am. We ordered the full breakfast and shared. The full breakfast was; scrambled eggs,2 bacon, 2 white sausage, two toast and one broiled tomato. We also ordered a mixed berry scone. Everything was delicious. Hot tea.

The food here is lovely! My parents and I had lunch here and it was really nice and freshly cooked. Would definately eat here again as it was also very reasonably priced. If you are in the area it's worth checking out.

Poppies Cafe is the perfect example of a small local business. Located right in the heart of Enniskerry with a low ceiling and cosy interior. The staff are lovely and very friendly. There's a great choice of food and wow is it fantastic. We bought panini to eat while out hiking and it was one of the best I've ever... More

For all the charm of country home cooking that's the image of a warm apple pie and granny waiting ....and all this palace is not. A 'famous chicken pie' is a mix of chicken, celery, mayo and breakfast cereal utterly revolting .Food for a heart attack really. This place reminds me of some stale deli in dinky ole Midwest town.

Dear Oscar, I'm sorry if you did not like our most popular menu item. Is two stars not harsh because you did not like a particular item? Poppies has been in the business of since 1982 and has never been described as a greasy spoon, we offer a healthy food alternative to all of the deep fried fast food chains.... More

This is really a nice place to have a meal. Not only because the food is good, but because there is an Irish touch to everything you eat. Not old school, but Irish cooking with a touch of today.... light and healthy. It is all homemade and the staff are a surprise: well trained, polite and concerned about the place... More

Just visiting Enniskerry for a couple of days. Couldn't decide where to eat...found Poppies and had the greatest experience. Fun loving and friendly staff. Nice decor. Try the Shepherds pie! Delicious!

Went here for what they call the full Irish breakfast, of 3 breakfasts all food was cold, plates were cold, toast was hard, returned food as was cold and it was just microwaved and then given the same cold hard toast back. No apology offered. Had to ask twice for butter & ketchup. Won't be back and won't recommend.

Dear Gearoid, Firstly, I'd like to apologise for the poor service you received. We had a new person on that morning, plus it was unexpectedly busy, in fact twice as busy as normal. Its not an excuse, I just wanted to let you know. I have spoken to both the kitchen person and the front of house staff member about... More

Stopped in here last week for some lunch. We were the only people in the cafe so it was nice and quiet. However, the manager, or the woman who seemed to be in charge, was nonchalantly chatting very loudly on the phone pacing up and down the restaurant as if she was at home catching up with a friend. Extremely... More

Dear Rebecca, Many thanks for letting me know of your experience. I will speak to the person in question. Unfortunately, and without trying to make excuses , there is no office in our cafe and the coverage is somewhat poor in the back kitchen. I'm delighted the rest of your experience was positive. Warm Regards Peter Norton More
