We always like to stop for lunch at somewhere near Gatwick and the Cherry Tree pub in Copthorne is brill for pub grub. The whitebait had been deep fried in clean oil and the garlic ciabatta was freshly prepared. My lamb pie was chockablock full of fat less meat and the broccoli and French beans properly 'al denté' and the... More

Based on a recommendation, I visited The Cherry tree with 3 children for an early evening meal. The service was slow and when the food arrived it varied in quality. The youngest child, aged 5, chose from the children's menu; she enjoyed the food and it seemed reasonable value for money. Likewise the boy, aged 8, enjoyed his burger. The... More

2nd visit in as many weeks and both times, we received excellent meals. This night, we shared a fish basket starter followed by the 20oz T Bone each with salad. Each of us requested the steak cooked differently and each was served exactly as we ordered. Service was also faultless, our only complaint being that the choice of wine by... More

Just thought I would add a review for this lovely pub as we eat here on a regular basis and it surpasses all the more expensive surrounding pubs/restaurants for quality of food and value for money. Nice informal atmosphere and helpful staff.

We came across this pub one evening, And what a find. We had a three course meal. And it was well presented, tasted incredible, not over faced or shy with the portions. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We went on a night that there was a quiz & that was also great fun. Quiz master was lovely.

We visited in Feb, and had heard good reviews, specifically on the burgers, steaks and ribs. With this in mind, I looked at the menu and decided on the rack of ribs which they didn't have in stock, then went for the mixed platter which they also didn't have. Settled for the shirt rib of beef which was nice, but... More

Only managed to visit here once since moving to the area but definitely somewhere I would recommend and visit again. The food is excellent quality and a really good price. Service was really friendly and all staff we encountered were helpful and really welcoming. Without a doubt the best place we have found in the area for food, can't wait... More

The Cherry Tree provided a perfect Sunday lunch. The place has a real relaxed, non-rushed vibe, the staff are superb including the owner who makes you feel very welcomed and the food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. It's really homely in there and really cannot recommend it highly enough as totally chilled out dining experience. Only one niggle in... More
