Great service.
Nothing too much trouble.
Enjoyed our meal.
Loved the idea the menu given was priced for you to decide 2 course or 3 and price was stated. Great idea.
Would return as a couple and would try lunch next time.

We had heard so many great reviews for Smiths so we chose it for our 26th wedding anniversary dinner this year. A small intimate place with a very relaxed feel to it. You could tell from the moment you arrive that it was different and with the small menu that each dish was going to be well prepared. We chose the chicken parfait and scallops to start and I have never tasted a parfait so smooth and tasty and the scallops with stornoway black pudding were cooked to perfection and delicious. We have heard so much about the braised beef dish so we both had that for main and to say it was outstanding is an understatement. The beef was falling apart and the smoked vegetables added a whole new level to the taste of carrots and celeriac. We both ended the night with the crunchy apple cake and ice cream, and a coffee. We could not have been happier and more impressed with our first experience of Smiths. Great staff too who were very attentive and polite and great value for money considering the standard of food. Thank you to Michael and all the staff for a fantastic meal, we came in from Lanark for the meal and it was worth every mile of travel. We will be back soon.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary at Smiths at the end of September. The service was exceptional and the food mouth waterIng - feather blade of beef to die for. My husband normally hoovers up my leftovers but there was none, much too good to leave for him. We also don’t normally do three courses but it was so good that we couldn’t resist. We will definitely be back!

Enjoyed everything about our visit.
The restaurant has a very welcoming feel and a friendly face also welcomed us on entry.
The food from a very reasonably priced set menu was absolutely stunning. I had the Soup and my partner had the patty for starter. Followed by the flank of beef and the chicken.
We genuinely couldn’t fault a thing and can’t wait to visit again.
Maybe a bit late to the party with this one but glad to have found this little Lanarkshire gem

First visit to Smiths will not be the last. Decor, staff, food first class,fixed price menu plenty of choice.Starters scallops with black pudding/goats cheese with red pepper superb.Mains ribeye steak/braised beef both cooked to perfection veg/fries nicely cooked.Two cheese and biscuits tea coffee to finish great meal to end 2022 thank you Smiths have a happy 2023

Been a fan for many years. During lockdown we have been ordering take away and the quality is of the usual high standard.
Makes the weekend feel a tad different to a week day.
From ordering to collection, the process is seamless and safety re. distancing etc spot on.
Really looking forward to being able to visit the restaurant when we can again.
The owners and staff really are so helpful and kind. One of only a few places that thank you for custom.

3rd visit over the recent past. Anniversary meal treat and Smith's did not disappoint. Made to feel very welcome and special by the attending staff, food was top notch, service intervals were appropriate, all at a very reasonable cost.

It was so lovey to be able to get back to this lovely restaurant for lunch.
As with my previous visits, the place, the food, the service all are first class.
From warm welcome ,to home made biscuit along with cup of tea...nothing is too much bother for Staff.
The blade of beef...delcious, as was almond sponge ,with creme fraiche.
I also always like small touches, like warm rolls,( with soft butter) brought to table , before meal, and , as I previously mentioned home made biscuit, to accompany cup of tea.
Cannot wait to return.

My wife and I visited this place for lunch on Sunday 15 Jan 2023 at approximately 3pm. It was a spur of the moment booking made at approximately 1pm. They said they could squeeze us in and needed the table back after 2 hours which was fine by us. The restaurant was not busy and the service was slow. I chose blade of beef which is apparently a popular dish here and to say I was disappointed would be a understatement. I thought it would be a piece of meat more like a roast or something. However it was nothing more than a small timble with shredded beef like pulled pork and very stingy which stuck in your teeth. It was also very dry and lacked much taste. The menu is not very extensive and has little choice and the lunch/pre theatre menu is basically the same as the a la carte menu. We ordered scallops for starters which was a ÂŁ5 supplement each and this was discounted from the bill as a good will gesture and the waiter said I should have informed him that I wasn't happy with my dish and he would have changed it even though he and other staff looked over and passed our table and could quite clearly see I wasn't eating. We were in and out of the restaurant in about 1 hour. I have spent more time with my grandchildren in a Mc Donald's. We won't be back again. I suspect some of the reviews are fake.

Not my first review nor my last. I regularly eat here, the food quality and price is fantastic. To offer three plates of exceptional food for ÂŁ30 needs to be applauded. The staff are very much part of the furniture and excellent. In all my times visiting, never had a cause to complain or leave food on the plate.

We have visited this restaurant for many years and our recent visit wasn’t a disappointment.
We had the evening menu which was reasonably priced and the food was stunning as always.
This restaurant is more or less on our doorstep and anytime we go there we wonder why we don’t go more often.

On reaching my "biblical " birthday (thank goodness!), I wanted to have a memorable meal with the people I love most. Looking at the choices around me, it was a little depressing, all I wanted was really good food, comforting customer service, something quietly excellent.....Smiths at Uddingston met my requirements absolutely.
The menu gave us lovely decisions, my scallops were perfect, the crisply deep fried cauliflower sprig just finished it delightfully. If I say that 4 out of the 6 of us chose the amazingly tender skirt beef....and we all raved about it, you'll get the picture of how this chef knows how to deliver mouthwatering food. To finish, the chocolate delice was absolutely perfect!
Staff were friendly, really made our experience, couldn't have been better.
Yes, we will be back. Such a lovely experience, especially in the current situation, thank you so much!

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my husband’s PhD completion. I chose it after reading all the lovely reviews on this app. I have to say it did not disappoint and surpassed our expectations! When we arrived we were presented with a personalised menu that showed care and attention to detail. The food was delicious with generous portions! We will definitely return and will recommend to friends and family! Thank you so much for having us!

Had a superb lunch here, excellent service from start to finish and the food was fantastic. Each dish was well presented and most enjoyable. Really enjoyed the smoked duck and ham croquettes. The creame brûlée with the gingerbread and ginger ice cream was also very tasty. Lovely meal at a very reasonable price for three courses.

My husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary with a takeaway from Smiths. As usual the food was amazing. My husband needs to have gluten free food and this was not a problem for Michael and his staff. They helped make our day a bit more special. Once we are able to dine out again we will be back.
